Xiaomi, the renowned tech company, has broadened its product range by introducing its inaugural electric grinding pen under the Mijia brand. This versatile tool is suitable for various applications, including wood carving and jade polishing.
The pen is currently available for crowdfunding on Xiaomi Mall and Xiaomi Youpin. The crowdfunding campaign starts at 10:00 AM on July 31, with a standard retail price of 199 yuan ($27) and a special crowdfunding price of 169 yuan ($23).
Xiaomi Mijia Electric Grinding Pen Specifications
The Mijia electric grinding pen is designed to be slim and portable, making it perfect for detailed work. The pen has a diameter of just 2cm and is made from anodized aluminum alloy, offering a lightweight and comfortable grip. Weighing around 310g, it is easy to handle and carry, thanks to its compact, matte-textured storage box.
The pen is equipped with a brushless hollow cup motor, capable of reaching speeds up to 22,000 RPM. This allows it to perform efficiently in tasks such as carving, grinding, polishing, and drilling.
Battery and Usability
The pen supports both lithium battery and plug-in modes, eliminating concerns about battery life. It features an 800mAh lithium battery that can run continuously for up to 60 minutes on a full charge. For extended usage, it can also operate while plugged in, ensuring uninterrupted work periods.
User interaction is simplified with a one-button power on/off feature and a knob for speed control, making it accessible even for beginners. Accessories can be easily attached and detached without a wrench by unscrewing the pen tip.

The electric grinding pen includes an automatic pop-up storage box that organizes its 16 high-quality grinding heads, each with a 2.35mm shank diameter. These grinding heads comprise a wool brush, twist drill bit, diamond grinding head, grinding wheel head, rubber grinding head, and wool grinding head. They pop up neatly upon opening the box, providing easy access and avoiding the hassle of searching through clutter.
