Roughly a month ago, Asus put up four new ROG Strix and ROG Swift OLED gaming monitors on its worldwide site. These include the ROG Strix OLED XG27AQDPG, XG27ACDMS, and XG34WCDG, along with the PG32UCDMR, which is the only model from the higher-end ROG Swift OLED line.
At that point, Asus had already mentioned that the ROG Strix OLED XG27AQDPG would be released globally this summer at a price of $899. The ROG Swift OLED PG32UCDMR is also expected to be available during this time for $1,299, aligning with the previous ROG Swift OLED PG32UCDM. However, there was still uncertainty about the availability and pricing for the ROG Swift OLED XG27ACDMS and XG34WCDG.
New Pricing on JD.com
Now, the ROG Swift OLED XG27ACDMS has appeared on JD.com in China at a price that is quite appealing. Positioned between the ROG Strix OLED XG27AQDMG and XG27ACDNG (currently priced at $729 on Amazon) in terms of refresh rate, the XG27ACDMS offers a 280 Hz refresh rate, along with a native resolution of 1440p and an impressive 0.03 ms GtG response time on a 27-inch QD-OLED display. Additionally, this mid-sized screen provides a full panel brightness of 250 nits and can reach up to 1,000 nits in HDR mode, but only over 3% of its panel area (3% APL).
Current Market Prices
Right now, the ROG Strix OLED XG27AQDMG and XG27ACDNG can be bought for as low as CNY 3,499 (~$488) and CNY 5,999 (~$836) in China, respectively. On the other hand, the ROG Swift OLED XG27ACDMS has launched at CNY 3,999 (~$557), with some early discounts bringing it to around CNY 3,400 (~$474) in certain areas.
In the end, it seems unlikely that Asus will price the XG27ACDMS as low outside of China; for example, the XG27AQDMG has a $699 MSRP in the US. Nonetheless, the launch price of the XG27ACDMS suggests that Asus plans to set competitive pricing in other regions. As of now, the timeline for when the company’s first 280 Hz QD-OLED will be available in Europe, North America, and other places is still not clear.
