Xiaomi’s Poco brand has officially set a date for the unveiling of its latest mid-range device, the Poco M8 Power 5G, following an initial teaser earlier this month. The company has confirmed the phone’s launch timing while sharing a handful of standout specifications ahead of the full announcement.
Battery life takes center stage
The headline upgrade for the new model is a massive 8,000 mAh battery, a substantial increase compared to the 5,520 mAh cell found in the standard Poco M8. Xiaomi claims this capacity can deliver up to three days of usage on a single charge, positioning the M8 Power 5G as an attractive option for consumers who prioritize endurance over frequent top-ups. This larger battery represents the primary differentiator from the existing M8 and M8 Pro models.
Display and design details emerge
The company also revealed that the handset will feature an AMOLED display, although crucial details such as screen size, resolution, refresh rate, and brightness levels remain undisclosed for now. Visually, the latest promotional material continues to showcase a distinctive textured orange finish that first appeared in the brand’s early teaser images.
Unconfirmed internals and launch specifics
While a full specifications sheet has not yet been published, industry reports suggest the Poco M8 Power 5G may share its foundation with the Redmi Note 17. Should these reports prove accurate, the device could be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 chipset, support 45 W wired charging, and include a 50 MP primary camera. None of these features have been verified by Xiaomi at this stage.
The Poco M8 Power 5G will be sold in India exclusively through Flipkart immediately following its launch. Xiaomi plans to disclose the remaining specifications, official pricing, and on-sale dates during its August 4 launch event, which is scheduled to begin at 12 PM IST. For the moment, the company has announced the device solely for the Indian market without indicating plans for a broader international release.
