Vivo has launched the V60 smartphone this year, following the introduction of the V50 a few months back. This new device, aimed at photography enthusiasts, is a direct upgrade to its predecessor with notable improvements in processor performance, camera capabilities, and battery duration.

Upgraded Processor and Software

The Vivo V60 is powered by a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chip and comes with a maximum of 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of internal storage, which unfortunately does not allow for expansion. It operates on Android 15 along with Funtouch OS 15 right out of the box. Vivo promises that users will receive four major OS updates (Android 16, 17, 18, and 19) and six years of security patches, continuing until 2031.

Enhanced Battery Life and Camera Features

The battery size has been increased, featuring a 6,500 mAh capacity that supports fast charging at 90 W, specifically with the Anker Prime GaN USB-C 100 W charger, currently priced at $59.99 on Amazon. However, wireless charging is not supported. In terms of photography, the V60 upgrades to a Zeiss-tuned triple rear camera system from the dual-camera setup found in the V50. This new configuration includes a 50 MP Sony IMX882 telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, a 50 MP Sony IMX766 primary camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), and an 8 MP ultrawide lens.

Display and Additional Features

The V60 maintains the same 6.77-inch AMOLED quad-curved FHD+ display as the previous version. This panel boasts a peak brightness of 5,000 nits, an enhancement over the last model, while the refresh rate stays consistent at 120 Hz. For selfies and video calls, it features a 50 MP front camera backed by Zeiss. Other important features include an in-display fingerprint sensor, an IP68 and IP69 rating for water and dust resistance, a dual-color temperature rear fill light, and the option for up to 12 GB expandable RAM.

The starting price for the Vivo V60 is INR 36,999 ($425) for the basic model with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. The 8 GB + 256 GB variant is available for INR 38,999 ($445), while the high-end 16 GB + 512 GB version retails for INR 45,999 ($525). Customers can choose from mist gray, moonlit blue, and auspicious gold colors. The V60 will be available for purchase in India from Vivo India’s official website and other authorized retail outlets beginning August 19.
