Infinix has unveiled the Hot 70 Pro, the direct successor to its Hot 60 Pro, introducing a mix of clear upgrades and a few strategic downgrades. The new budget-conscious device delivers a faster processor, a substantially larger battery, and an extended software support commitment, while swapping out some components from the previous generation.

A New Processor and Extended Software Promise

Under the hood, the Hot 70 Pro is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7100 chipset, paired with 8 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256 GB of internal storage. Users should note that there is no option for storage expansion. On the software side, the phone runs Android 16-based XOS 16 out of the box. Infinix is notably promising three major OS upgrades, taking the device up to Android 19, along with five years of security patches extending through 2031. While a solid commitment for its price segment, this still trails the support timeline offered by rivals like the Samsung Galaxy A37, which provides six major OS updates and six years of security patches.

Display and Battery Trade-Offs

One of the device’s most distinctive design features is an Active Matrix Cube LED display housed inside what looks like a third camera lens. For actual photography, the phone relies on a dual rear camera system headlined by a 50 MP Sony IMX882 main sensor, accompanied by an unspecified secondary unit. In a shift from the Hot 60 Pro, the selfie camera has been reduced to an 8 MP sensor, down from the previous 13 MP.

The main screen is a 6.76-inch IPS LCD panel, marking a departure from the AMOLED technology found in the last generation. The display offers a 2344 x 1080 pixel resolution, an adaptive refresh rate capable of reaching 144 Hz, and a peak brightness of 950 nits. Keeping the phone running is a 6,000 mAh battery, a significant bump in capacity, which supports 45 W wired charging.

Design and Availability

Infinix is offering the Hot 70 Pro in a wide array of six color finishes: night pulse, dive blue, depth ring white, mirage green, silk glow purple, and thermo orange. At the time of writing, the company has not yet disclosed official pricing or regional availability details.
