Vivo's New Smartphone Launches
The companie just announced the new Vivo Y500s recently, featuring the newly feshed Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset and a super smooth 120 Hz refresh rate, alongside a massive 7,200 mAh battery. Along side that, they also teased the Y600 Pro and have already started selling it in China. Quite a buzz; users are eagerly waiting for global releases.
Design and Hardware Intricacies
The Y600 Pro really looks good on the front, showing slim bezels around its display, a flat frame, and brushed sides that gives it a premium feel. But, when you look a little deeper, the internals tell a different story. Vivo chose a slightly weaker chipset than the Dimensity 7300, which is found in other phones like the CMF Phone 2 Pro, Edge 60, and Moto G86.
Performance and Camera Specs
Inside the Y600 Pro, the Dimensity 7300e packs Cortex-A55 cores similar to the original 7300 but with downclocked Cortex-A78 cores, maxed out at 2,500 MHz – a small step down in speed. The GPU also takes a hit, dropping from Mali-G615 MP2 to Mali-G610 MC2, making it less powerful for gaming or intensive tasks. Despite that, the phone brings a strong battery life with a 10,200 mAh cell capable of fast 90 W charging.
Display and Price Range
The device features a generous 6.83-inch AMOLED panel with a resolution of 2800x1260 pixels and a quick 120 Hz refresh rate, making the visuals look sharp and smooth. Fotos and selfies are captured with a 32 MP front camera, while the main camera system includes a 50 MP (f/1.8) sensor housed in a prominent housing. Pricing starts at CNY 2,099 which roughly converts to $305 for the base model with 8 GB RAM and 128 GB storage. Upgrades to 8 GB RAM with 256 or 512 GB storage cost around CNY 2,299 ($335) and CNY 2,599 ($380). The top-tier configuration at 12 GB RAM and 512 GB storage costs CNY 2,899, approximately $425. The company didn’t reveal about global release plans yet.
