A compact gaming desktop with a distinct edge in graphics memory has quietly entered international markets. The Aoostar GODY, previously exclusive to China, is now available to direct overseas customers at a starting price of $849 (€945). Sold exclusively as a barebone unit, the system requires purchasers to install their own RAM and SSD, with sales and logistics managed entirely by the manufacturer.

Ample memory and a high-core-count processor

At the heart of the GODY is AMD’s Ryzen 9 7940HX, a 16-core mobile-derived processor that brings substantial multi-threaded grunt to the 200 × 80 × 193 mm (7.87 × 3.15 × 7.60 in) chassis. Discrete graphics are handled by a Radeon RX 7600 XT equipped with 16 GB of video memory—exactly double the VRAM of the GPU inside Valve’s Steam Machine. While the real-world benefit of that doubled capacity remains title-dependent and influenced by driver-level refinements, it gives the mini-PC a clear specification advantage on paper for high-resolution texture packs and memory-heavy workloads.

Connectivity and storage flexibility

Networking is handled by Wi-Fi 7 alongside a pair of 2.5 Gbps Ethernet ports, opening up fast wired and wireless options. Internally, two DDR5 SO-DIMM slots and two M.2 SSD slots provide straightforward upgrade paths. Around the back and front, five USB 3.2 ports sit alongside HDMI, DisplayPort, and USB-C video outputs, covering multi-monitor setups without requiring adapters.

A different design philosophy

Visually, the GODY leans toward a traditional desktop tower aesthetic rather than the sleek, minimalist form factor that makes the Steam Machine a natural fit in the living room. It prioritizes airflow and component accessibility in a footprint that remains small enough to sit comfortably on a desk, offering buyers a functional alternative in the growing compact gaming PC segment.
