Robosen has unveiled a limited-edition addition to its Transformers flagship series, the Fallen Leader Optimus Prime G1. The new release commemorates a pivotal moment from the 1986 animated film The Transformers: The Movie and breaks from the character’s traditional palette with a battle-damaged aesthetic.

A Tribute Cast in Black and Gray

Unlike previous Autobot collectibles finished in signature red and blue, this version is rendered entirely in black and gray. Its surface is heavily scarred, with sculpted cracks, burns, bullet marks, and scratches that directly reference Optimus Prime’s death scene. Peter Cullen, the original voice actor from the film, provides the figure’s vocal performance.

Movement, Voice, and App Control

The robot retains the series’ hallmark auto-conversion capability, shifting between robot and vehicle mode with 50 built-in microchips and 27 servo motors driving its transformations and poses. Owners can issue more than 50 voice commands—including “convert” and “attack”—while a companion mobile app enables new action downloads, hidden feature unlocks, and software updates. For custom choreography, Robosen Studio PC software allows users to design their own battle sequences. The figure can also perform synchronized motion and dialogue alongside the existing Flagship Megatron and Flagship Bumblebee units, recreating classic confrontations. Compatibility does not extend to the Elite Optimus Prime Trailer Kit, which is supported separately.

Limited Pre-Order Window

Priced at $1,399, the Fallen Leader Optimus Prime G1 is currently available for pre-order at a $400 discount. North American availability is capped at 1,000 units, with the pre-order period closing on August 25, 2026, at 11:59 PM EDT. Shipping is scheduled to begin in December 2026, and each pre-order includes a complimentary Robosen coaster.
