Peladn has introduced its latest compact desktop computer for the Chinese market. The new WI-7 model is built around Intel’s Pentium Gold 7505 processor, a dual-core chip from the Tiger Lake-U family designed for energy-efficient operation.

Performance and Everyday Use

While it is not positioned to compete in high-end benchmark tests, the Pentium Gold 7505 delivers a performance profile comparable to an Intel Core i5-8265U. This level of processing power is sufficient to handle typical daily workloads smoothly, making the system a practical choice for office productivity, web browsing, and media playback.

Compact Design and Connectivity

A defining characteristic of the WI-7 is its physical footprint. The chassis measures just 115 x 106 x 37 mm and weighs a mere 290 grams, making it truly palm-sized. Despite these dimensions, Peladn has equipped the mini PC with a practical selection of ports. The front panel includes two USB 3.0 Type-A ports and a 3.5 mm audio jack, while the rear offers two USB 2.0 Type-A ports, two 2.5-gigabit Ethernet jacks, an HDMI 2.0 output, and a USB Type-C port.

  • USB Type-C with DisplayPort 1.2 output supporting triple-display setups
  • Dual 2.5 GbE LAN ports
  • WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3 wireless connectivity

The USB Type-C port supports DisplayPort 1.2 Alt Mode, enabling triple-monitor configurations when combined with the HDMI output. Wireless connectivity is handled by WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3, and Peladn notes that an optimized internal airflow layout with a turbo fan is designed to keep the system stable under sustained loads.

Configurations, Pricing, and Upgradability

The WI-7 is available in two fixed memory and storage configurations. The base variant, with 8 GB of RAM and a 256 GB SSD, is priced at CNY 1,189, roughly equivalent to $175. A higher-tier option with 16 GB of RAM and a 512 GB SSD is listed at CNY 1,699, or approximately $250. While the system memory is soldered and not user-upgradable, internal storage can be expanded via three M.2 slots. Peladn has not yet announced any plans to launch the WI-7 outside of China.
