Logitech is preparing to follow up on one of its most unconventional gaming peripherals with a refined successor. According to a post by @jakeufps on X, citing a trusted source within the Pericord Discord community, a new version of the G Pro X2 Superstrike is in development and expected to arrive later this year.
Internal hardware upgrades
The forthcoming mouse—tentatively referred to by the source as the G Pro X2 Superstrike 2—will reportedly feature an upgraded main controller alongside further refinements to the device’s signature Haptic Inductive Trigger System (HITS). That technology, introduced in the original model, replaces physical mechanical switches entirely by using magnetic induction to register precisely how far the left and right buttons are pressed. Haptic feedback simulates a traditional click sensation, while the architecture enables adjustable actuation and reset points and can trim click latency by up to 30 ms compared to conventional designs. Interestingly, the optical sensor module is not said to be part of the planned component changes.
Design continuity expected
The leaker behind the information expressed a personal hope for a full external redesign, noting that Logitech has employed the same fundamental shape across its premium mouse lineup for several years. However, the more confident assessment points to only the internal main-controller and HITS improvements moving forward, with no other significant alterations to the chassis or layout. That would keep the Superstrike 2 visually consistent with the $180 G Pro X2 Superstrike, which launched in September of last year inside the competitive high-end esports mouse segment.
Reveal timing and pricing outlook
The updated model is expected to be unveiled during the Logitech G Play event in September, though a specific announcement date has not yet been shared. Given the original’s premium $180 price point, industry watchers anticipate the successor will occupy the same tier, with a possibility of an even higher cost depending on the scope of the internal revisions. Logitech has not officially commented on any upcoming Superstrike product.
