Lenovo is preparing to expand its handheld gaming lineup with a new device built specifically for cloud streaming. Unlike the company’s Legion Go series, the upcoming Legion C700 is being developed in partnership with Tencent and is positioned squarely as a cloud-first gaming platform. Additional details have now surfaced ahead of an expected launch in August.

Display and control specifications

According to an official post on the Legion Weibo account, the Legion C700 will feature a 7.82-inch IPS display with a 120 Hz refresh rate. This puts the screen slightly below the 8-inch, 120 Hz IPS panel found on the Legion Go S. The device's controls include TMR thumbsticks, Hall Effect triggers, and an omni-directional D-pad, along with a set of four customizable buttons — two extra shoulder buttons and two rear buttons — giving players more flexibility in configuring their inputs.

Lenovo has not yet disclosed specifications for the processor, RAM, internal storage, or battery capacity. Visuals shared so far show the handheld in a white colorway, though the possibility of additional color options arriving later has not been ruled out.

Cloud gaming focus and regional availability

Lenovo describes the Legion C700 as a cloud gaming device, placing it in a similar category as the Logitech G Cloud and the Abxylute OnePro. The handheld will natively integrate Tencent's START cloud gaming service, providing users with immediate access to a broad library of popular and newly released titles without the need to download or install games locally.

This deep integration with Tencent START strongly suggests that the Legion C700 will be released as a China-exclusive product, given that the service operates only in that market. Consumers outside China are already weighing the handheld’s broader potential, however. If the device runs Android and ships with capable internal hardware, it could be used to run PC games through third-party applications such as GameNative, GameHub, and Winlator, which may make it an appealing option for import.
