Lenovo has quietly expanded the product specifications for its upcoming ThinkPad X13 Detachable Gen 1, a direct competitor to Microsoft’s Surface Pro line. The device was originally revealed in March during MWC 2026, but since that announcement, Microsoft has launched its Surface Pro 12 globally with Intel Panther Lake and Snapdragon X2 Elite processors. While Lenovo has yet to begin selling the new 2-in-1, its official PSREF database now outlines the full launch roadmap and hardware configurations.
Global Availability and Processor Options
According to the updated listings, Lenovo plans to roll out multiple SKUs across all key markets, including Africa, Europe, the United Kingdom, and the United States. The ThinkPad X13 Detachable Gen 1 will be powered exclusively by Intel’s Panther Lake processor family, aligning it closely with the latest generation of Windows tablets in the premium segment.
Memory, Storage, and Display Specifications
The detachable will be offered with 16 GB, 32 GB, or 64 GB of LPDDR5X-7467 RAM and a choice of 256 GB, 512 GB, or 1 TB of PCIe 4.0 storage via a single M.2 2242 slot. Lenovo rates the integrated 45 Wh battery for just under 11 hours of usage based on the MobileMark30 benchmark at 250 nits of brightness. The 13-inch IPS panel features a 3:2 aspect ratio and a 120 Hz variable refresh rate. In SDR mode, it is expected to reach 500 nits of peak brightness while covering 100 percent of the sRGB color space.
Pricing Uncertainty and Market Context
Lenovo had previously indicated a starting price of €1,949, roughly $2,217, for the Eurozone. It remains unclear whether that figure will hold at launch, given ongoing memory-cost pressures that continue to affect Windows OEMs across the industry.
