Lenovo has quietly refreshed its flagship Legion 9 18IAX10 gaming laptop, just over a year after its initial debut, by integrating one of Intel’s latest mobile processors. Instead of introducing an entirely new generation, the company has upgraded the existing 18-inch chassis with the Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus, a chip that was officially unveiled in March.
A Measured Performance Lift
The updated processor belongs to Intel’s Arrow Lake HX family and promises a modest but meaningful gain in raw CPU throughput. According to internal benchmarks, the Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus delivers roughly 7 percent higher performance compared to the Core Ultra 9 275HX configuration that launched with the system in May 2025.
Pricing and Configuration Breakdown
Beyond the new silicon, the Legion 9’s core specifications and design remain untouched. In the United States, the refreshed model starts at $4,999, which includes 64 GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 laptop GPU. Buyers seeking maximum graphics power can opt for the GeForce RTX 5090 variant, priced at $6,699.
The updated hardware has also appeared in other markets with slightly different configurations. In Hong Kong, a version equipped with 32 GB of RAM and an RTX 5080 is listed at HKD 36,752, equivalent to approximately $4,687. Across the Eurozone, pricing ranges from €5,698 to €5,954 for a 64 GB RTX 5080 model, while UK retailers offer the same configuration starting at £4,781. Lenovo continues to support up to 192 GB of DDR5-4000 RAM across its configurator, alongside the RTX 5090 option.
