In a major step toward its full 1.0 release, the team behind Winhanced is deploying version 0.9.9.2, bringing a rebuilt performance core and a redesigned overlay to the popular Windows handheld gaming interface. The update targets smoother gameplay, finer control, and broader platform compatibility on devices such as the Asus ROG Ally 7.
Rebuilt Performance Engine
Central to the release is a completely overhauled Performance Engine that stabilizes power tuning with greater efficiency. It delivers more accurate temperature and power telemetry, along with refined fan behavior. When a handheld fails to recognize existing settings, Winhanced now automatically reapplies the correct configuration, helping sustain consistent performance during extended play.
Redesigned Overlay and Intel-Specific Tools
The update also introduces Winhanced HUD 2.0, a rebuilt Xbox Game Bar widget built around a tile-based interface for faster access to gaming and system controls. Users can customize the overlay layout, craft per-game fan curves, and keep the HUD active even after closing the main Winhanced application. On Intel-powered handhelds, two new features appear: Endurance Gaming, designed to extend battery life over long sessions, and Frame Generation Override, which allows toggling between multiple multiplier settings without relying on Intel’s own software.
Early Access Enhancements and Stability Fixes
Early access testers gain two fresh home-screen designs—Art Forward and GlassStation—as well as expanded game library support covering Ubisoft Connect, EA, Amazon Games, and Battle.net. The build also resolves a series of stability issues, including unexpected sign-outs and installation failures, while removing outdated system drivers. Together, these changes reinforce Winhanced’s foundation as the project moves closer to its 1.0 milestone.
