Introduction to the Huawei Pura 90 Pro Max

Huawei has launched an impressive, flagship smartphone called the Pura 90 Pro Max along side of its special Pura X Max model. This device, truly standout with its eye-catching design and camera capabilities, features a massive, triangular camera setup on the back. It’s also built to resist water with an IP69 certification, which means it can handle quite a lot.

Design, Size, and Battery

The Pura 90 Pro Max is quite notable for its size, being 8.1 millimeters thick and weighing around 230 grams, making it somewhat on the heavier side. Inside, Huawei has managed to fit a mighty 6,000 mAh battery that supports fast charging both wired and wireless methods—100 watts via USB-C and 80 watts wirelessly. The design includes diverse color options, making it appealing to various tastes.

Camera and Display Technology

This phone features a powerful camera array, featuring a 50 MP main sensor with an f/1.4-4.0 aperture and a 1/1.28-inch sensor size. It also has a 40 MP ultra-wide-angle lens with an f/2.2 aperture, and a 200 MP periscope telephoto camera with a similar sensor size, offering 4x optical zoom, OIS, and macro options. Plus, a dedicated sensor is meant to enhance color reproduction accuracy. The display is sizeable at 6.9 inches, with LTPO OLED technology, 120 Hz refresh rate, and high resolution of 2,880 x 1,308 pixels, protected by scratch-resistant Kunlun Glass with an anti-reflective coating.

Processor and Connectivity

Powered by the newer HiSilicon Kirin 9030S chip, the device claims to deliver improved AI processing compared to previous chips. It supports dual SIMs, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, and satellite emergency calling, although the last feature is only available in China. The phone runs on some of the latest tech, making it ready for various connectivity needs.

Pricing and Availability

In China, the Huawei Pura 90 Pro Max goes on sale with different configurations: the base model with 12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage costs approximately 6,499 Chinese Yuan, or about $950. The high-end version with 16 GB RAM and 1 TB storage is priced at roughly 8,599 Yuan, or $1,260. Huawei has not announced when or how much the phone will cost in other markets, leaving international customers waiting for more details.
