Design Rumors Shift for Samsung’s Galaxy S27 Ultra
Recent speculation surrounding the Galaxy S27 Ultra’s rear design appears to be swinging back toward a more familiar aesthetic. While earlier rumors pointed to a dramatic departure from Samsung’s established look, new information suggests the company may not be ready to abandon its signature style just yet.
A Horizontal Bar May Not Materialize
Previous reports had generated considerable excitement by suggesting that Samsung would replace its distinctive floating camera rings with a sleek, horizontal camera bar stretching across the back panel. However, the latest input from reliable industry source Lanzuk indicates that Samsung is still actively evaluating multiple design prototypes, and none of the current frontrunners incorporate that specific minimalist layout. This points to an internal refinement process that remains very fluid, leaving open the possibility that the production model will hew closely to the existing Ultra design identity rather than introducing a radical visual shift.
Camera Upgrades Remain on Track
The conflicting leaks underscore the inherent volatility of information obtained early in a device’s development cycle. While Samsung is widely expected to deliver significant camera hardware improvements for the Galaxy S27 Ultra, the external appearance is anything but settled. For now, the concept of a horizontal camera bar should be treated as just one speculative direction among several, not a confirmed blueprint for the final product. Samsung’s current flagship, the Galaxy S26 Ultra, is meanwhile available with a 17% price reduction, now selling for $1,250.
