Factory upgrades and early production readiness
The update comes from Fixed Focus Digital, a leaker on Weibo with a track record of supply chain insights. According to the post, manufacturing facilities have already been renovated to handle the phone’s unique construction. The source noted that the production approach closely mirrors that of the iPhone Air, which may signal strong durability in the final product. At this stage, the factory is reportedly awaiting approval to begin the initial manufacturing run. Given that Apple typically ramps up full-scale assembly only weeks ahead of a launch, and the anniversary model is anticipated in September of next year, this early phase is likely focused on prototype builds rather than mass production.
Blend of glass and aluminum
While the front of the device embraces an uninterrupted glass surface, the rear panel is believed to use aluminum. This combination could strike a balance between a premium aesthetic and practical structural integrity. Analysts have previously pointed to the possibility that this design language will extend beyond a single commemorative release. In a report from April, one analyst suggested that future Pro models might adopt the same approach, much as the iPhone X introduced a form factor for the 10th anniversary that later became the blueprint for successive generations.
