Hisense has formally introduced the A10, a dual-display e-ink smartphone that adopts an unusual approach to screen versatility. While it enters a niche market alongside devices such as the recently released Bigme Hibreak Dual 2, Hisense is differentiating its handset with a detachable secondary screen.
A Magnetic, Removable Companion Display
Instead of building two screens permanently into the chassis, the A10 relies on a color LCD panel that attaches magnetically to the back of the phone. When not needed, the secondary display can be removed entirely, giving users the option to carry a lighter monochrome-only device. Official specifications for the detachable screen have not been confirmed, though the design is clearly aimed at adding flexibility without committing to the bulk of a fixed second panel.
Core Display and Processor Details
The front of the device features a 6.13-inch monochrome e-ink display, bordered by bezels that are visually comparable to those on the Hibreak Dual 2. Under the hood, company teasers point to a 4nm eight-core system-on-chip, which industry observers believe could be the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. That level of silicon suggests the phone is positioned to handle demanding applications well beyond basic reading and note-taking.
Pricing and Availability Outlook
It remains unclear whether the detachable display will be included in the retail box. According to a report from the tipster Experience More, the magnetic panel is unlikely to ship as a standard accessory and will instead be sold separately. Most other details, including full specifications and a definite launch price, are still under wraps. However, early expectations place the Hisense A10 at a starting point of CNY 3,999 in China, which converts to approximately $590. An official confirmation from the company is still pending.
