DS has detailed the new N°7, a battery-electric compact SUV built expressly for long-distance travel. The model—officially stylized as DS N°7 and often searched as DS No. 7—will make its public debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. European dealerships are expected to receive the vehicle in autumn 2026, with first customer deliveries promised before the close of that year.

The 183.5-inch SUV posts a drag coefficient of 0.26. From the Étoile trim upward, the front fascia features the DS Luminascreen, integrating vertical light bars. Underpinning the car is the STLA Medium platform, which supports three E-Tense electric powertrains. The entry point is a front-wheel-drive variant rated at 227 hp (256 hp with temporary boost). A Long-Range front-drive version raises output to 242 hp, or 276 hp in boost mode. At the top of the range sits a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive Long Range model delivering 345 hp across both axles, with boost unlocking 370 hp.

Electric range and rapid-charging behavior

Range sits at the center of the N°7’s technical pitch. The base model carries a 73.7 kWh (usable) battery and is capable of up to 337 miles on the WLTP cycle. Long-Range derivatives adopt a larger 97.2 kWh pack, pushing the maximum WLTP figure to 460 miles. Real-world highway driving, according to the manufacturer, should exceed 249 miles between stops. The larger battery accepts DC fast-charging at up to 160 kW. Because the charging curve holds that peak rate from 20 percent to 55 percent state of charge, the SUV can recover roughly 124 miles of range in ten minutes. A 20-80 percent top-up takes 27 minutes.

Cabin design and on-board technology

Inside, the cabin is treated as a luxury lounge, with hand-finished seats offering heating, ventilation, massage, and individual neck warmers. A 10-inch digital instrument cluster sits ahead of the driver, paired with a 16-inch central display. The DS Iris System 2.0 infotainment suite includes ChatGPT artificial intelligence as standard, enabling natural-language voice commands. Driver-assistance technology comprises DS Drive Assist 2.0 Level 2 semi-autonomous capability, an infrared night-vision system, and adaptive Pixelvision headlights that illuminate up to 1,706 feet ahead. Cargo volume ranges from 19.8 to 55.4 cubic feet, and the charging cable stows in a dedicated compartment beneath the load floor.

A luxury electric entrant in a growing field

With the N°7, DS Automobiles is targeting a premium slice of the expanding electric compact SUV segment, emphasizing touring range and interior refinement. The model enters a market where competitors are also scaling battery capacity and in-cabin tech, yet DS is leaning on its French luxury positioning and Stellantis platform scale to differentiate. The combination of a 460-mile WLTP rating and a fast quasi-flat charging curve could address lingering real-world range concerns for buyers transitioning to electric motoring.
