Denza has taken the wraps off its all-new Denza Z, an all-electric supercar engineered to push the boundaries of performance. The four-seat hypercar, built on the brand’s freshly developed e3 sports car platform, relies on a three-motor electric powertrain delivering a combined output of 1,582 hp (1,180 kW) and peak torque of 1,240 Nm. The racing variant completes the 0–100 kph sprint in just 1.96 seconds, placing it firmly ahead of some of the most celebrated combustion-engine supercars from Italy. Top speed is rated at 350 kph.
A Charging System That Redefines Speed
The model’s most striking technical achievement may be its charging capability. BYD has paired the second generation of its Blade battery with new “Flash Charging” technology, enabling a single-port charging power of up to 1,500 kW. This allows the battery to climb from a 10 percent state of charge to 70 percent in only five minutes. A near-complete top-up from 10 to 97 percent takes just nine minutes, making the process quicker than many conventional refueling stops. The company cites a maximum range of 410 kilometers (254 miles).
Three Body Styles and a Driver-Focused Cabin
Denza is offering the compact electric hypercar in three regular configurations: a traditional electric coupe, an open-top electric spider, and an electric racing version. The racing specification features an extensive aerodynamic package that generates more than one ton of downforce at the car’s 350 kph top speed. Inside, the cockpit is built around the driver, with physical steering wheel controls, a 12.8-inch infotainment screen offering native Google integration, and a Devialet sound system. A dedicated track mode adds telemetry data recording and includes a one-touch function for controlled drifts.
Record Ambitions on the Nordschleife
To further showcase the platform’s potential, the BYD subsidiary has revealed a “Special Edition” producing more than 1,973 hp. That variant is scheduled to attempt a record lap on the Nürburgring Nordschleife in fall 2026, entering a space where Porsche and Xiaomi have recently turned the circuit into a high-stakes proving ground for electric performance. The broader context of an accelerating EV performance arms race gives the attempt particular weight as Chinese manufacturers increasingly challenge established European benchmarks. European customers will be able to order the standard Denza Z versions this summer, with first deliveries expected before the end of the year.
