Bandai Namco Entertainment has begun recruiting participants for a closed beta test of Bleach Mirrors High, an upcoming mobile title set in the aftermath of the Blood War arc. Players will step into the role of Soul Reapers, including two entirely new characters created by original Bleach author Tite Kubo.
Beta Access and Device Requirements
Applications for the closed beta will be accepted from 11:00 P.M. PDT on July 22 through 10:59 P.M. PDT on July 29. The test will be available in English, French, German, Japanese, Korean, and Traditional Chinese exclusively on smartphones; tablet devices are not supported. Android users need a device running OS version 12.0 or later with at least 6 GB of RAM, while iOS users require version 17.0 or above with a minimum of 4 GB of RAM. Bandai Namco has not yet disclosed a full release date or additional gameplay specifics.
Kubo’s Expanded Creative Role
Tite Kubo’s involvement extends well beyond the design of the two new Soul Reapers, Shirin Migishima and Shirane Sanari. According to a statement from the creator, he has been part of the project since its very first meeting, contributing to the game’s title, scenario, and broader character artwork. “I got so excited working on them and ended up doing more than what was requested,” Kubo said, adding that he personally oversaw the logo design to ensure it reflected his own aesthetic. He also sat in on voice acting auditions and recording sessions, which he noted helped the characters turn out exactly as he imagined. He further teased that the story connects back to the main narrative of the original manga.
Early Look at the Roster
Alongside the newly revealed characters, a second teaser presented at Anime Expo 2026 confirmed the return of familiar faces including Rukia Kuchiki, Renji Abarai, Toshiro Hitsugaya, Byakuya Kuchiki, and protagonist Ichigo Kurosaki. Brief gameplay glimpses indicate that Bleach Mirrors High will preserve the visual style and combat feel that have defined earlier Bleach video game adaptations. While the studio has kept concrete story and mechanics details under wraps, the combination of Kubo’s hands-on guidance and the post-Blood War setting suggests a title built closely around the series’ established lore.
