Ayaneo has announced a new availability window for its Pocket Micro 2 retro gaming handheld, just days after the initial batch sold out entirely. The device, which launched on June 26 at a price of $239, is built around Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865 processor—an upgrade that places it well ahead of the Helio G99-powered Pocket Micro Classic and standard Pocket Micro models in terms of raw performance.
A Rapid Sell-Out and a New Restock
The first global allocation of the Pocket Micro 2 was extremely limited. Ayaneo confirmed that only 100 units were produced for international customers, while over 1,000 devices were distributed in China. As a result, availability vanished almost immediately. The company has now stated that the product “is coming back,” with the next purchasing window scheduled for June 10 at 20:00 PDT, which corresponds to 03:00 UTC on June 11.
Ayaneo has not disclosed the quantity of devices available in the upcoming restock, but it reiterated that sales will operate on a strict first-come, first-served basis.
New Color and Full Pricing Structure
Alongside the restock, Ayaneo is introducing a Stardust Purple color option for the base configuration, which includes 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. The complete retail pricing remains as follows:
- 6 GB RAM / 128 GB storage: $239
- 8 GB RAM / 128 GB storage: $269
- 8 GB RAM / 256 GB storage: $299
The compact form factor and Snapdragon 865 silicon position the Pocket Micro 2 as a niche but compelling choice in the growing handheld emulation market, where both Android-based and x86-based portables are competing intensely on price and features.
