Xiaomi has officially released the Smart Solar Camera 4 Pro in China, a standalone outdoor security device that moves beyond its earlier crowdfunding phase. The camera is paired with a solar panel, removing the need for a wired power supply in typical installations.
Built-In Connectivity and Battery Reserve
The device operates without an external network connection, integrating dual 4G SIM card slots designed to work with Chinese carriers. According to Xiaomi, this arrangement provides consistent connectivity and automatic failover when signal strength is poor. In conditions where the solar panel does not receive enough light, a built-in 9,900mAh battery takes over, which the company states can sustain the camera for more than eight days on a full charge.
Dual-Camera Design and Imaging Capabilities
The security camera features a dual-sensor configuration, with both units offering 5-megapixel resolution. The top camera can swivel 180 degrees horizontally and 20 degrees vertically, while the lower unit offers 355 degrees of horizontal rotation and 95 degrees vertically. These sensors are capable of recording what Xiaomi labels “3K” high-definition video. A f/1.6 aperture lens aids low-light performance, and the system supports full-color night vision supplemented by dual infrared LEDs, which can deliver identifiable images across a distance of up to 10 meters.

Local recording is handled through a microSD card slot, and the enclosure carries an IP66 rating for dust and water resistance. AI-powered security functions are included as well. The Xiaomi Smart Solar Camera 4 Pro 4G Dual-Camera Edition is priced at CNY 649, which converts to approximately $96.
