Xiaomi has expanded its smart home ecosystem with a new flagship appliance designed to address indoor air quality and moisture levels simultaneously. The Mijia Purifying Humidifier 3 Pro merges air purification and humidification into a single floor-standing unit, targeting users who want both functions without operating separate devices.

Performance and Coverage for Larger Spaces

The hybrid device is built to serve sizable rooms, outputting up to 2,000 mL of moisture per hour. According to the company’s estimates, this is sufficient to raise humidity in a typical bedroom in approximately seven minutes, or in a living room in roughly 19 minutes. Xiaomi does not specify the exact square-meter dimensions it considers standard for those room types. An 8-liter water reservoir supports continuous operation for as long as 16 hours when set to sleep mode.

Hygiene-Focused Water and Air Systems

Several design choices aim to maintain cleanliness over extended use. A one-way water circulation system prevents used water from flowing back into the clean tank, reducing the risk of bacterial growth and discoloration. The unit also incorporates electrolyzed water sterilization, a washable antibacterial filter, and a self-cleaning cycle. On the purification side, a six-layer filter captures dust, PM1 and PM2.5 particles, allergens, and formaldehyde. Users can run purification and humidification either together or independently.

Smart Controls and Live Environmental Data

A dome-shaped LCD screen on the device displays real-time readings for humidity, temperature, dust concentration, and overall air quality. Settings such as a target humidity level and filter monitoring can be adjusted via the Mijia app or through XiaoAI voice commands. The Mijia Purifying Humidifier 3 Pro is currently available through crowdfunding on Xiaomi Youpin in China, priced at 1,699 yuan, or approximately $251. There is no official word yet on a global release.
