Xiaomi has officially introduced its Mijia washing machine and washer-dryer to the European market, building on the company’s previously announced push into larger home appliances. The washer-dryer combination carries a retail price of €479, reduced from a suggested price of €559, while the standalone washing machine is offered at €449, down from an MSRP of €499.
Performance and Capacity
Both front-loading units are built around a 525 mm drum diameter, a design choice that directly benefits spin efficiency, and can reach a maximum spin speed of 1,400 RPM. Each model provides an 8 kg washing capacity, while the washer-dryer handles up to 6 kg in drying mode, which aligns with the standard capabilities of most combination appliances in this segment. A hot steam cycle is included to help eliminate potentially harmful germs, and users can choose from integrated options such as automatic high-temperature drum cleaning and a 15-minute quick wash program. A color display panel simplifies program selection.
Energy Efficiency and Connectivity
Under European energy labeling, the washer-dryer is rated Class D, consuming approximately 306 kWh per 100 standard drying cycles. As anticipated for Xiaomi’s smart ecosystem, both appliances connect to the Xiaomi Home app, giving owners access to remote control functions and over-the-air firmware updates. Xiaomi backs the machines with a two-year standard warranty and extends coverage on the inverter motor to 12 years. The launch positions Xiaomi’s major appliance range competitively in a market where smart integration is quickly becoming an expected feature rather than a premium add-on.
