Nothing Phone (1) Gets Closed Beta Program for Nothing OS 2.5

Nothing, the smartphone brand, has recently announced the launch of its Closed Beta program for the Nothing Phone (1). This program focuses on testing the new Nothing OS 2.5. Unfortunately, the selection process for participants has already been completed, and the program is currently full. If you were lucky enough to be chosen, you can expect to receive an update for your device soon. The update measures 1.22GB in size and brings several exciting features. Customization Enhancements

The update introduces a redesigned joint Home Screen and Lock Screen customization page, providing a more seamless and intuitive experience. The edit wallpaper flow has also been improved, allowing users to explore a comprehensive range of options. Additionally, two new wallpaper effects have been added. The "Atmosphere" effect offers dynamic and color-motion backgrounds, while the "Glass" effect provides a unique and special appearance. For those who prefer a cleaner look, solid color wallpapers have been introduced. Moreover, a monochrome color theme has been included in the basic color section.

Glyph Interface Enhancements

The Glyph interface has received several enhancements in this update. Users can now enjoy integrated Glyph Progress for Google Calendar, which includes a 5-minute countdown. The Glyph Timer now supports time presets for quick duration settings. Furthermore, users can access the Glyph Timer directly from the lock screen without having to unlock the device. Additionally, there is an option to open the Glyph Timer popup with a single tap instead of holding. Lastly, a new Glyph animation has been introduced when NFC is used, and the logic of Flip to Glyph has been improved.

Gesture Improvements

The update brings several improvements to gestures on the Nothing Phone (1). Users can now customize the double-press power button to quickly access their chosen features. The lock screen has also been enhanced with additional shortcut options, including Do Not Disturb, Mute, QR code scanner, and video camera. Furthermore, a three-finger swipe gesture has been introduced for quick screenshot capture. To enhance the editing experience, a new screenshot editor and menu with advanced editing features and quick deletions have been added.

Other Enhancements

In addition to the above, the update includes several more improvements. The Weather app experience has been optimized with better weather alert notifications. The back animation has been made predictive, and the back gesture arrow visual has been refreshed to align with Nothing's style. Users now have separate settings for ringtone and notification sound volumes, along with an updated control interface. The Quick Settings layout has been updated to support more device icons. The stability of the Camera has been improved, and overall system stability has been enhanced for a smoother and more reliable experience.

Closed Beta 2 on the Horizon
