Just before the Chinese holidays, Anbernic made an exciting announcement about two new handheld gaming devices — the RG Vita and RG Vita Pro. These models draw inspiration from Sony’s PlayStation Vita. While we have nearly all the information about the RG Vita, including its specs, we’re still waiting to find out its price and release date. On the other hand, Anbernic has kept the RG Vita Pro shrouded in mystery. However, a recently deleted YouTube video has leaked some interesting information about this handheld.
Dual Operating Systems
The deleted video indicated that the Anbernic RG Vita Pro will come with dual operating systems. This is a contrast to the regular RG Vita, which runs on Android 12 straight out of the box. According to the video, the RG Vita Pro will operate using both Android and Linux right from the start. This revelation is surprising, as a prior leak mentioned that the device would run on a Linux operating system but did not mention it would have Android as an additional OS.
More Dual-OS Handhelds
Interestingly, the RG Vita Pro is not the first dual-OS handheld on the market, nor is it Anbernic’s initial attempt at one. Other dual-OS devices include the Anbernic RG353P and the newer Abxylute E1. It’s unclear why Anbernic decided to take down the video, which also showcased the gaming abilities of the device. We suspect it was released prematurely, so there is a good chance it could reappear soon.

Additionally, it will come equipped with Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi 5, and a robust 5,000mAh battery that supports 18W charging.
