Honor is making significant announcements at MWC 2025. The brand revealed that it will now provide seven years of software updates for its flagship smartphones, along with the introduction of a new AI-driven mobile assistant.
Exciting New Tools
But that’s not everything—Honor is also launching fresh tools aimed at simplifying file sharing, enhancing smartphone photography, and aiding in the detection of deepfake images and videos. Let’s dive into the specifics.
AI Connect Feature
One of the standout features revealed by Honor at MWC 2025 is called AI Connect. This feature enables users to wirelessly send photos, videos, and other files between Android and iOS devices. Honor claims it to be the “world’s first all-ecosystem file-sharing technology,” boasting rapid transfer speeds across both systems.
As per the brand, AI Connect can transmit files at speeds of 125MB/s between Honor gadgets, 100MB/s with other Android devices, and 85MB/s to iPhones. However, as ZDNet highlights, iOS users must download a new app called Honor Connect to facilitate file transfers between Honor devices and iPhones.
AiMAGE Innovations
Honor is also debuting AiMAGE, a new label for its AI-enhanced photography features. The company states that AiMAGE employs a mix of on-device and cloud-based AI models to enhance photo quality.
On the device, it utilizes a 1.3-billion-parameter AI model that boosts image clarity by 50%. Meanwhile, a more extensive 12.4-billion-parameter model in the cloud improves details in telephoto captures by leveraging greater computing resources. Honor is collaborating with partners like Google Cloud to expand these AI imaging capabilities over time. The first AiMAGE feature to launch will be AI Upscale, which can rejuvenate old portrait photographs. Honor mentions that this feature will be available on the Magic 7 series—excluding the Magic 7 Lite—starting in March.
AI Deepfake Detection Tool
In addition, Honor is rolling out an AI Deepfake Detection tool aimed at helping users spot altered media. This feature examines factors like pixel inconsistencies, unnatural edges, and facial mismatches—such as a face not aligning properly with its ears or hair.
If the system finds signs of potential tampering, it notifies the user so they can assess the content’s reliability. Honor first showcased this tool at IFA 2024, but today, the company confirmed that it will initially be available on the Magic 7 Pro and Magic V3.
