Xiaomi is set to unveil its much-anticipated SU7 electric vehicle (EV) later this month, as per a report from arenaev.com on March 6th, citing industry sources. This launch aligns with the previously mentioned Q2 delivery schedule for the vehicle, as confirmed by Xiaomi President Lu Weibing.
Xiaomi's Expansion Plans
According to the report, Xiaomi has initiated the construction of specialized 2S stores across China dedicated to the sales and service of their EVs. Approximately 60-70 of these stores are expected to be established initially in key Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities. This move indicates that the official pricing for the SU7 may be disclosed soon.
Details of the SU7 EV
The Xiaomi SU7, set to be delivered from Q2 2024 onwards, was first introduced globally at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Targeting the mid to high-end market segment, the EV is projected to be priced between 250,000-370,000 Yuan ($35,176 – $52,061). Xiaomi aims to tap into its existing base of 20 million premium smartphone users in China to drive initial sales, with production expected to reach 10,000 units per month by July.
It's worth mentioning that while a Zeekr executive hinted at a possible launch date of March 28th last month, Xiaomi has not officially confirmed this detail. Additionally, recent leaks have revealed new color options for the SU7.
