Earlier this year, the Xiaomi MIX 5 was identified in the IMEI database, with official confirmation that it won't be released in 2024. Nonetheless, leaks about this smartphone continue to surface. Digital Chat Station reveals that the Xiaomi MIX 5 will feature an under-display camera and a unibody ceramic design. It is already known that the device will incorporate an under-display camera.
Xiaomi MIX 5 is Coming
A prototype, believed to be the Xiaomi MIX 5, appeared on Geekbench 6. This prototype was codenamed “Suiren” and was powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. A flagship MIX series device slated for a 2025 release is unlikely to launch with the previous year's flagship SOC. Initial prototypes probably used Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. It is anticipated that the Xiaomi MIX 5 will utilize Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, although this has not been officially confirmed nor found in any code.
Uncertain Release
There is no guarantee that the Xiaomi MIX 5 will be unveiled. If Xiaomi encounters issues with the device, it may cancel the launch. Currently in the prototype phase, it is speculated that the smartphone might debut in 2025. The codename “Suiren” has roots in Chinese mythology, referring to a cultural hero who introduced fire for survival. The previous Xiaomi MIX 4 was codenamed “odin”.
Ceramic Tradition
Digital Chat Station indicated that the device might feature a ceramic build, consistent with previous MIX series models. This tradition is expected to be upheld with the Xiaomi MIX 5. Enthusiasts are hopeful that Xiaomi will release the MIX 5, allowing them to experience the new device.
