Xiaomi MIJIA Faucet Water Purifier 2 Launches with Durable Filter

Xiaomi has introduced the MIJIA Faucet Water Purifier 2 in China, featuring a durable and washable filter element. According to Xiaomi, the filter can be utilized for up to six months before needing replacement. This launch follows the product’s earlier appearance in a crowdfunding campaign.

Design and Filtration System

The MIJIA Faucet Water Purifier 2 showcases an integrated structure with a snap-on rotating mechanism for easy assembly and disassembly. It can be directly attached to an existing faucet, making it versatile for various uses. The purifier supports a 5-layer composite filtration system, which includes a high-density stainless steel filter, diatom mud ceramic filter element, and coconut shell activated carbon. Additionally, it incorporates high-density non-woven fabric. Xiaomi claims this system effectively eliminates mud, rust, colloids, residual chlorine, insect eggs, and organic pollutants from the water.

Maintenance and Longevity

The design allows for easy monitoring of the filter element’s condition. The filter is visible and can be easily cleaned by polishing and scrubbing with sandpaper or a scouring pad, maintaining its effectiveness. The package includes four filter cartridges, allowing for up to two years of usage without the need for new cartridges. However, it is important to note that these cartridges are not compatible with those from the first generation.

Performance and Pricing

The Xiaomi MIJIA Faucet Water Purifier 2 has a flow rate of up to 3.4 liters per minute. It offers three water use modes: purified water, raw water, and shower water, which can be selected using a tuning knob. The purifier is priced at an introductory rate of 119 yuan ($16) and will be available in China starting July 19. There are no details yet regarding its global availability.
