Xiaomi has introduced a new device, the Sports Walkie-Talkie, to the Chinese audience. It is being sold at a price of 399 yuan ($54) and is available for pre-order on Xiaomi Youpin. This is not Xiaomi's first foray into the walkie-talkie space. Earlier, in 2023, the company released the Xiaomi Walkie Talkie 2S, which boasted an impressive standby time of 120 hours.
Features of the Sports Walkie-Talkie
The Sports Walkie-Talkie is packed with features that cater to outdoor lovers and adventure enthusiasts. It incorporates TD-LTE wireless data technology, which guarantees reliable communication over long distances. The device supports the nationwide 4G networks of major carriers including China Mobile, China Unicom, and China Telecom. Additionally, it offers a communication range that extends up to 5000 kilometers, ensuring smooth connectivity during outdoor activities.
Design and Durability
This walkie-talkie has a sleek and lightweight build, measuring 54 x 55.6 x 22.3 mm and weighing only 67 grams (not including accessories). Despite its compact size, it has a robust 1030mAh lithium-ion polymer battery that allows for up to 24 hours of continuous use or 36 hours on standby. Its advanced low-temperature battery can operate in extreme conditions as low as -30°C, making it ideal for activities like skiing, hiking, and cycling.
The device includes a special noise-canceling chip that reduces wind noise, guaranteeing clear communication even at speeds of up to 60 km/h. It features a team button that provides tactile feedback, which helps in forming groups quickly, even when wearing gloves. The IP65 rating for water and dust resistance ensures that it remains durable in tough environments.

Xiaomi has also incorporated a magnetic quick-detach system into the device, allowing for various wearable and portable mounting options like magnetic goggle clips, armbands, and lanyards. It provides the convenience of securely attaching to different gear, making it hands-free for users.
The device works well with the Xiaomi Walkie-Talkie app, which includes features like team management, location sharing, and OTA updates. It also supports Bluetooth connectivity, letting it function as a speaker or activate your smartphone's voice assistant with a quick double press on the function button. Moreover, it has a "Lost Mode" that allows users to trigger an alarm to find misplaced devices from a distance.
The Xiaomi Sports Walkie-Talkie supports Type-C charging and has been designed for durability. It comes with accessories such as magnetic clips and snow-lock clips to enhance its usability.
In addition, Xiaomi has broadened its range of products with the Xiaomi Mijia Top-Flow Pro Air Conditioner, which offers rapid heating and cooling features alongside HyperOS integration. The company has also launched the MK71 Pro mechanical keyboard, featuring a 71-key layout, triple-mode connectivity, and a powerful 7800mAh battery.
