Xiaomi 15 Ultra Expected to Launch at MWC 2025

Some previous sources indicated that the Xiaomi 15 Ultra could be released in January 2025. Nevertheless, Xiaomi officials have denied these rumors, confirming that the 15 Ultra is set to launch in February, following the same timeline as the Xiaomi 14 Ultra. Recently, a new leak has surfaced, providing insight into the possible launch dates for both China and international markets.

Launch Timing for the Xiaomi 15 Ultra

According to the informant Experience More, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra is likely to adopt a launch pattern akin to that of the Xiaomi 14 Ultra. It is anticipated to debut in China by the end of February, with an international reveal shortly thereafter at the Mobile World Congress (MWC). This implies that both launches will occur nearly together, with just a few days apart. For reference, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra was introduced in China on February 22 and made its global debut three days later at MWC 2024.

Certification and Features of Xiaomi 15 Ultra

A Weibo post from the leaker Digital Chat Station indicates that the Xiaomi 15 Ultra has obtained all necessary certifications in China. A notable feature is that all variants will include support for the Tiantong satellite calling function as standard. The high-end model will also offer support for Beidou satellite text messaging. DCS also reaffirmed that the 15 Ultra is set to be revealed in February.

The Ultra edition will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, similar to the Xiaomi 15 and 15 Pro. Its screen is predicted to be a 2K resolution OLED display with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, providing a seamless and engaging visual experience. It is likely that the phone will be equipped with a robust 6,000mAh battery, capable of 90W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging.

Camera System and Additional Features

Reports have disclosed that the Xiaomi 15 Ultra will feature a quad-camera system, consisting of a 50-megapixel main sensor with an f/1.63 aperture and a 1-inch LYT-900 CMOS. Additionally, it will include a 200-megapixel Samsung HP9 periscope telephoto lens, a 50-megapixel telephoto lens, and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens. This sophisticated setup aims to facilitate full-focus macro photography and a 100x AI fusion zoom, allowing users to capture sharp and detailed images from both short and long distances. To further enhance the photography and videography experience, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra might also be bundled with an external camera handle, designed for easier handling and convenience while shooting.
