Vertigo MK1: Revolutionizing Home 3D Printing Technology

The Vertigo MK1 is a new 3D printer designed for large-scale printing and it’s currently being funded through a crowdfunding campaign. According to the information on the product page, the inventors aim to transform automation in FDM 3D printing with several objectives:

Print Area and Features

The print area measures 250 x 220 x 220 millimetres, which means it can’t produce very big models. The print bed can reach temperatures up to 120 °C, and with the automatic bed leveling, both new users and seasoned ones won’t need to stress about regular adjustments or maintenance. The makers of the Vertigo MK1 say that the printing process is super simple since all you have to do is upload the model; you can also easily set how often you want the model to be printed. They report a current record of 200 hours of continuous printing, which used 5 kg of filament.

User Management Options

Users can control the printer directly through the slicer. Alternatively, it can also be operated remotely using WiFi on a laptop or smartphone. A webcam can be added to keep an eye on the printing process.

Pricing and Delivery

During the crowdfunding campaign, backers have the option to pre-order the 3D printer as a hardware kit starting at a price of $2,250. The expected delivery date is May 2025. As with all crowdfunding projects, the usual risks are involved.
