Unihertz, a Chinese company known for its unique smartphones, introduced a rugged phone named Unihertz Tank 3 in November, which has been available globally for a few months. Interestingly, after a considerable period, the device has now been launched for sale in China, where it is priced higher, unlike the usual trend.
Pricing Discrepancy
In its global market, the Unihertz Tank 3 is offered in a single 16GB + 512GB memory variant with a price tag of $499.99. However, in China, the same device is priced at ¥4,699 ($650), which is a departure from the typical scenario where Chinese brand phones are more affordable domestically.
Specifications Overview
The Unihertz Tank 3 is equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 8200 processor and runs on Android 13. It features an impressive 23,8000mAh battery that supports 120W wired charging, resulting in a thicker body at 31mm and a weight of 666g due to the substantial battery size and rugged design.
Display and Camera Capabilities
The front of the device sports a 6.79-inch FHD+ (2460 x 1080 pixels) 120Hz display (LCD) along with a 50MP selfie camera. On the rear, it houses a triple camera setup comprising a 200MP primary sensor, a 50MP ultrawide lens, and a 64MP night vision shooter.
Additional Features and Connectivity
In addition to being IP68-rated for dust and water resistance, the Unihertz Tank 3 offers various useful features like a 40m laser range finder, an infrared sensor, a bright LED flashlight with 1200 lumens, two customizable side buttons, and a fingerprint scanner. Connectivity options include dual SIM support, sub-6GHz 5G, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, GNSS, NFC, and USB Type-C.
