Two New Rugged Galaxy Devices Coming Soon

Samsung is said to be working on two new tough additions to its Galaxy series: the Galaxy Xcover 8 Pro smartphone and the Galaxy Tab Active 6 Pro tablet. Renowned for crafting sturdy and dependable devices, Samsung's Xcover and Tab Active series are made to endure tough conditions, serving users in environments like fieldwork and industrial sites.

Galaxy Xcover 8 Pro

Since its introduction in 2011, Samsung’s Xcover series has expanded, with the Xcover 8 Pro likely to enhance the Pro variant launched in 2020. The model number SM-G766B assigned to the Xcover 8 Pro fits perfectly into Samsung’s naming convention for these products, following the earlier Xcover 6 Pro (SM-G736B) and Xcover 7 (SM-G556B).

Expected to be launched in the middle of 2025, the Xcover 8 Pro is anticipated to feature advancements in durability and performance, although specific details are still not confirmed. Samsung's Xcover line is well-known for its robust construction, resistance to water and dust, as well as military-grade certifications, making it perfect for outdoor workers and rigorous use. While the exact specs are still hidden, the Xcover 8 Pro is likely to come with better processing capabilities, longer battery life, and possibly 5G support, keeping pace with the standards of modern rugged smartphones.

Galaxy Tab Active 6 Pro

Alongside the Xcover 8 Pro, the Galaxy Tab Active 6 Pro tablet will also make its debut, expected around mid-2025. This tablet will succeed the Tab Active 5, which was launched earlier this year, continuing Samsung's pattern of alternating releases between standard and Pro versions. The Galaxy Tab Active series is known for its IP68 dust and water resistance, MIL-STD-810 certification, and tough design, making it suitable for both industrial and field applications.

Similar to the Xcover 8 Pro, the Tab Active 6 Pro is projected to provide greater durability, better display technology, and a robust battery with replaceable options, as seen in earlier models. Given that Samsung has incorporated S Pen support in previous Tab Active devices, it is likely that the Tab Active 6 Pro will also include useful features for workers on the move.
