TP-Link Unveils TL-DB54H 2.5K Video Doorbell with AI Face Recognition

TP-Link has introduced its newest video doorbell, the TL-DB54H, to the Chinese market. It’s currently available on Tmall for an introductory price of 157 yuan ($22). Let’s dive into its key specifications.

The TL-DB54H video doorbell features a 4MP sensor that records video in 2.5K resolution, providing clear and detailed footage. Two infrared fill lights enable night vision, allowing visibility up to 5 meters in low-light conditions.

Designed for remote monitoring, it can be accessed via the “TP-Link IoT” mobile app, so users can monitor their doorstep from anywhere. The doorbell also supports two-way voice communication for real-time conversations with visitors, enhancing convenience and security whether users are at home or away.

Smart Detection and AI Features

This video doorbell comes with several smart detection features, including infrared human detection using a professional PIR sensor to identify human shapes and send immediate alerts to the app. The infrared detection range is adjustable to reduce unnecessary alerts based on the environment.

Additionally, the TL-DB54H includes AI face recognition, which can differentiate between family members and visitors. Notably, this feature is free to use without any additional charges.

Storage and Security

For storage, the TL-DB54H supports up to 512GB of microSD card storage, with automatic overwriting of old footage when the card is full. It also provides free 72-hour cloud storage, allowing users to review recent recordings anytime.

In terms of security, the video doorbell is equipped with various anti-theft measures, including a tamper alarm that sends instant alerts and records video if the doorbell is tampered with. The device is securely linked to the user’s cloud account, rendering it unusable by others unless unbound by the owner.

Battery Life and Additional Features

The TL-DB54H is powered by a high-capacity lithium battery, which under typical usage conditions, requires charging only three times a year, lasting up to 130 days. The app also supports quick voice replies and voice modulation for enhanced security, particularly beneficial for women and children responding alone.
