Redmi A4 5G Launching in India on November 20: Affordable Smartphone

Xiaomi is gearing up to unveil its new budget-friendly Redmi A4 5G smartphone on November 20 in India. This news has been officially announced by the company, and a special landing page has been created on their official website, showcasing important features of the A4 5G smartphone.

    New Features and Upgrades

The Redmi A4 5G will be the next version following the Redmi A3 and Redmi A3x (currently priced at $85 on Amazon), which were released earlier this year. Xiaomi has chosen to equip the A4 smartphone with a 5G chipset. It will be powered by the Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 chipset that uses a 4nm architecture, featuring eight CPU cores and an Adreno 619L GPU. Just to remind you, this is Qualcomm’s latest chip designed for affordable smartphones that was introduced just three months ago.

    Display and Camera Specifications

In addition, the smartphone will boast a 6.8-inch display with a refreshing rate of 120Hz. Nevertheless, details regarding the resolution and peak brightness of the display are still not disclosed. Regarding photography, it is confirmed that the device will come with a 50MP dual rear camera system, along with a waterdrop-notch selfie camera on the front side.

    Battery Life and Pricing

Moreover, the listing has also shared the battery capability. The smartphone will have a 5,160mAh battery, which is an improvement from the 5,000mAh found in the A3. However, there is no information available yet about fast-charging features.

When compared to the previous A3 (priced at INR 7000/ $94), the A4 5G will be more expensive. Reports suggest that Xiaomi will price the device between Rs 9,000-10,000 (approximately $107 – $119) in India. In terms of color options, it will be available in at least two different colors.

  • Redmi K80 Pro AnTuTu Score and Price Under OnePlus 13 Revealed

Redmi K80 Pro AnTuTu Score and Price Under OnePlus 13 Revealed

The Redmi K80 series is about to be launched soon. Although Xiaomi has not yet started promoting the phone officially, a recent live stream on Douyin, which is China’s version of TikTok, by Redmi’s General Manager, Wang Teng, has given away some important information about the new device.

First Look at the Redmi K80 Pro

During the live stream, viewers got to see the front design of the Redmi K80 Pro for the first time. It also showed off its impressive AnTuTu benchmark score and provided hints about its pricing. The K80 Pro scored over 3 million points on AnTuTu 10, all while keeping its temperature at a maximum of 49°C in a normal room environment. The video suggested that the phone might have a metal frame. Additionally, two other unnamed phones were also shown, achieving scores of 2.73 million and 2.83 million points, so it’s quite clear which one is the star of the show.

Improved Features and No “E” Variant

Wang Teng also mentioned that the K80 series will utilize the HyperOS 2 system, which is set to enhance gaming experience, boost touch response, and potentially introduce new animations to the system. Another interesting point shared in the stream is the return to a dual flagship strategy for the Redmi K series. This indicates there will be a standard Redmi K80 alongside the K80 Pro, but no new version of the budget-friendly Redmi K70E will be released.

Pricing Insights for the K80 Pro

One of the most intriguing pieces of information was about the pricing. Wang Teng indicated that the Redmi K80 Pro will likely have better specifications than a certain “yellow” competitor’s 13th model, presumably referring to the iQOO 13. He also hinted that its price would be lower than that of a “red” rival’s 13th model, which is probably the OnePlus 13. To give some context, the iQOO 13 with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage is priced at 3999 yuan (around USD 559), while the OnePlus 13 starts at 4499 yuan (about USD 630). Therefore, we might expect the Redmi K80 Pro to be priced under 4,000 yuan.

However, it appears that the company might soon introduce the Smart Band 9 Active to the global market as well. While there’s been no official announcement, there are growing hints that this could happen soon.

    Certification Signals Global Release

Recently, Xiaomi received certification for a device with the model number ‘M2435B1’ from the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC). This certification primarily pertains to the member countries of the Eurasian Economic Union, but it often suggests that a global release could be on the horizon for the device.

    Details from Amazon Listing

As is typical, the EEC paperwork doesn’t provide much useful information. However, when we look up the model number, we find a listing on Amazon France. • Xiaomi Launches Redmi Note 14 Series in India

Xiaomi Launches Redmi Note 14 Series in India

Xiaomi India recently made a big announcement regarding its leadership. Muralikrishnan B, the current president, will be resigning from his position by the end of 2024. This is a significant shift for the company and could have implications for its future direction.

    Upcoming Launches in India

In addition, Xiaomi has revealed exciting news about new products. The company will be launching the Redmi A4 and Redmi Note 14 series in India. This information was disclosed during an exclusive interview with Business World. The Redmi A4 is set to hit the Indian market in November and will be the first device to use Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 processor. The design of this phone was previously showcased at the India Mobile Congress (IMC) in October.

    Timing and Trends

Xiaomi is taking advantage of the festive season by also planning to launch the Redmi Note 14 series in December 2024. This will be significant as it is the first time since the pandemic that Xiaomi is releasing two Note series devices in one year. Previously, the company would release two generations of the Note series roughly six months apart. The pandemic disrupted this timing, but now it appears that operations are getting back to normal. For instance, the Redmi Note 13 series was launched in India in June, and its successor will arrive in December.

Xiaomi’s Chief Marketing Officer for India, Anuj Sharma, shared insights about this quicker release schedule. He stated, “After 2022, we slowed down to an annual cycle… now, with improved efficiency and manufacturing alignment, we’re ready to return to a dual-launch approach.”

    Features and Pricing Expectations

The Redmi Note 14 series will come with a new camera design and enhanced chipsets, with some models rumored to include a 200MP sensor. It will also boast larger batteries and quicker charging options. Although Xiaomi has not officially announced the pricing for the Indian market, it is anticipated that the series will cater to different mid-range price brackets, spanning from under Rs 20,000 to possibly over Rs 30,000.

Adding to the excitement, there are rumors about a global launch of the Redmi Note 14 Pro 4G variant, which has yet to be released in China. The device has shown up on multiple certification sites, suggesting that a launch could be imminent.

Enhancing the user experience, it features a fresh, layered lime fragrance that adds a bit of zest to daily routines. Starting with lime and grapefruit notes, the scent gradually unfolds into juicy orange, cassis, lily, and a subtle mango finish, creating a pleasant and refreshing aroma.

    Power and Durability

The dispenser is equipped with a Type-C rechargeable battery, offering up to six months of use on a single charge. Xiaomi has included a large-capacity lithium battery and a high-efficiency motor to reduce energy consumption, making this soap dispenser both eco-friendly and user-friendly. With a 220mL refillable bottle, the dispenser can provide around 300 uses, making it perfect for larger families with less frequent refills. Its sealed design and precise foam outlet also help guard against external contamination, ensuring that every use delivers clean and fresh foam.

Earlier this year, Xiaomi also released a very similar washing kit that offers 99.9% antibacterial protection, a 180-day battery, IPX5 waterproofing, and touch-free foaming for 149 Yuan ($21).
