Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 Launched: Enhanced Battery, Cameras, RAM

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 has been officially launched alongside the Z Fold 6. This clamshell foldable smartphone doesn’t introduce any major changes but includes some hardware upgrades. Essentially, it appears that the South Korean company has refreshed last year’s model with updated internals and added AI features. Even so, the latest-generation clamshell foldable phone is set to compete with the likes of the Motorola Razr 50 series and other similar models in the market.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 Specifications

The main Dynamic AMOLED screen of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 is 6.7 inches with an FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The outer cover AMOLED screen measures 3.4 inches with a 720 x 748 pixels resolution and a 60Hz refresh rate. Samsung has retained the folder-icon-like design for the secondary screen, which offers AI-assisted functions like suggested replies without needing to unfold the device.

The Galaxy Z Flip 6 features a side-mounted fingerprint scanner integrated into the power button. Like the Z Fold 6, this clamshell phone comes with a dual rail hinge structure, Armor Aluminum, and Gorilla Glass Victus 2, making it highly durable. It also boasts IP48 dust and water resistance.

    Camera and Internal Specifications

In terms of photography, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 has upgraded cameras compared to its predecessor. It now features a 50MP main sensor with f/1.8 and OIS, paired with a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens. The selfie camera remains the same at 10MP.

Internally, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor with ray tracing capabilities. It offers up to 12GB RAM and 512GB storage. This is the first time the clamshell model is equipped with a vapor chamber for heat dissipation. The device is supported by a 4,000mAh battery with 25W charging. It runs on OneUI 6.1-based Android 14 and is guaranteed to receive software updates for 7 years.

    Pricing and Availability

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 is available in Silver Shadow, Yellow, Blue, and Mint colors. The 12GB + 256GB variant is priced at $1,099, while the 12GB + 512GB variant costs $1,219. The device will be available for sale starting July 24, with pre-orders beginning today.

Redmi Book 16 2024 Introduces Affordable 12th Intel Core i5 Variant with Reduced Specifications

Redmi Book 16 2024: A New Variant with Affordable Pricing

Redmi, the popular brand known for its smartphones, recently launched its latest laptop, the Redmi Book 2024, alongside the Redmi K70 series. The Redmi Book 2024 comes in two variants – a 14-inch model and a 16-inch model. While the smaller version has been available for sale since its official announcement, the larger model became available a few days later.

Now, weeks after its initial release, Redmi has silently introduced a new version of the 16-inch laptop with a different chip. Let’s take a closer look at the features of this new variant.

Redmi Book 16 2024: More Affordable with Downgraded Specifications

Redmi has launched yet another 16-inch notebook in China, which bears the same name as the previously released model – the Redmi Book 16 2024. However, this newer variant comes with a more affordable price tag as it is powered by a 12th Gen Intel Core i5-12450H processor, unlike the previous version that featured a 13th Gen Intel Core i5-13500H chipset. Additionally, the new model has a slower LPDDR5 5200MT/s RAM compared to the previous model’s 6400MT/s unit.

The display of the 12th gen variant also sees some downgrades. It offers a lower resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels, a standard 60Hz refresh rate, and a brightness level of 300 nits. In contrast, the 13th gen variant boasts a higher 2.5K resolution (2560 x 1600 pixels), a 120Hz refresh rate, and a brightness level of 400 nits.

Despite these differences, both models feature the same 16-inch display, which covers 100% of the sRGB color gamut and supports DC dimming as well as Dolby Vision. The charging speed also remains unchanged at 100W. However, the newer variant lacks the Thunderbolt 4 port and has a smaller battery capacity of 56Wh compared to the more powerful version’s 72Wh unit.

    Other Features and Specifications

Apart from the aforementioned differences, the remaining features of the Redmi Book 16 2024 are common across both variants. The laptop boasts a sleek metal body with a 180° hinge. It comes equipped with a full-size backlit keyboard that offers a key travel of 1.5mm. The Redmi Book 16 2024 is available in a single Stary Gray color option.

    In terms of connectivity, the laptop supports WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2. It offers multiple ports, including 1 x USB 2.0 (type-A), 2 x USB 3.2 Gen 1 (type-A), 1 x USB 3.2 Gen 2 (type-C), 1 x HDMI 2.1, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

On the software front, the Redmi Book 16 2024 runs on Microsoft Windows 11 Home Chinese Edition. It also supports HyperOS Connect, which enables seamless integration with other Xiaomi devices.

    Pricing and Availability

The Redmi Book 16 2024 with the 12th Gen Intel processor variant is now available for pre-order in China. Here are the pricing details for the different configurations:

    • 16GB RAM + 512GB storage: ¥3,399 (~$475)
    • 16GB RAM + 1TB storage: ¥3,599 (~$505)

These prices make the newer variant more affordable compared to the previous version, offering consumers a budget-friendly option without compromising on essential features.

Overall, the Redmi Book 16 2024 continues to deliver a reliable and stylish laptop experience, now with an additional variant that caters to different budget requirements.
