Nintendo Switch 2 Beats PS5 Reveal with 17M YouTube Views

After being talked about for several years, the Nintendo Switch 2 was officially announced on January 16. The initial video released by the company showcased the new handheld gaming device, and it seems to be receiving a lot of attention. To be precise, this reveal video accumulated over 17 million views within just 48 hours.

    Comparing View Counts

Naturally, the first-generation Nintendo Switch trailer had a stronger showing, racking up 19.5 million views on YouTube in the same two-day period. It’s quite fascinating that the new gaming handheld’s reveal video surpassed the first official PlayStation 5 video, which managed to gather about 13.3 million views in 48 hours.

    Growing Popularity on Social Media

Another interesting point is that the Nintendo Switch 2’s reveal trailer on X is gaining even more traction. The video has achieved over 40 million views on Nintendo of America’s account, while the Japanese version has surpassed 52 million views.

This clearly shows that there is significant excitement surrounding the Nintendo Switch 2. While the reveal trailer suggests that the handheld is set to meet expectations, the price will play a crucial role in its success. For reference, the original model debuted at a price of $299.99, which many consider a reasonable option compared to other popular handhelds, such as the ROG Ally (Z1 Extreme currently priced at $499.99 at Best Buy).

    Expected Pricing and Game Bundles

A recent report indicates that the Nintendo Switch 2 will be priced at $499 and will include a Mario Kart game as part of the bundle. Without the game included, the handheld is expected to retail for around $449.99. More information will be shared by the company during the upcoming Nintendo Direct event.

Nintendo Switch 2 Leak Suggests Possible Launch Price

The Nintendo Switch 2 has officially been announced, but while the design of the handheld device has been revealed, information about pricing still remains a mystery. A recent leak has brought some clarity to this situation. This information comes from an X user named @Shpeshal_Nick, who references a source that has previously proven accurate about launch dates.

    Pricing Insights

According to @Shpeshal_Nick, this source indicates that the new handheld will be priced at $449, marking a significant increase from the original Nintendo Switch. For context, the first-generation console was released in 2017 with a price of $299.99, which many found to be quite budget-friendly.

Interestingly, earlier reports had predicted a launch price of $399 for the Nintendo Switch 2. The new rumored price of $449 is said to include a “Mario Kart bundle,” which could be valued at around $50. Therefore, if you take away the bundled game, the suggested price aligns with the previous speculation (Z1 Extreme ROG Ally curr. $499.99 on Best Buy).

    Caution with Leaks

Even though the $399 price tag for the Nintendo Switch 2 might seem plausible, it’s wise to be cautious with these leaks. While the company has not disclosed any pricing information for the new gaming handheld, they have confirmed that more details will be shared during the upcoming Nintendo Direct event. This event is scheduled for April 2, which is just around the corner.

As for the Nintendo Switch 2, it is anticipated to launch with various AAA titles available. Although developers have not yet provided any details, the upcoming Direct event may offer further insights on this front.

CheckMag | Nintendo Switch 2: 5 Key Features from the Trailer

The Nintendo Switch 2 has finally arrived, and the trailer showcases a host of enhancements that elevate the console experience to new heights. With a bigger screen and better visual design, we’re excited to share our thoughts on the top 5 fresh features of this revamped handheld device.

    Bigger Screen for Better Gaming

The standout enhancement is the Switch 2’s larger display, which is designed to offer a more immersive gaming experience when you’re on the move. Thanks to narrower bezels and upgraded display quality, gamers can look forward to stunning visuals and a much more captivating experience while playing handheld.

    Sleek and Modern Design

Nintendo has given the Switch 2 a sleek and modern appearance that surpasses its predecessor. The console boasts a refined design with smoother lines and enhanced ergonomics. The new Joy-Con controllers add to this high-end look with their vibrant accent colors, making it visually appealing.

    Enhanced Connectivity Options

The announcement video highlights a significant improvement in connectivity: the addition of two USB-C ports. These ports are smartly placed next to the 3.5 mm headphone jack, making it more convenient for charging, docking, and connecting various accessories. This dual-port feature is a beneficial upgrade, particularly for those who use multiple devices.

    New Kickstand for Convenience

Nintendo has tackled one of the biggest issues with the original Switch by introducing a newly designed kickstand. This updated stand allows players to position the console at different angles, greatly enhancing the experience for tabletop gaming. It not only supports better shared gameplay but also makes it simpler to enjoy a few episodes of your favorite series.

    Simplified Joy-Con Connection

The new Joy-Con connection system replaces the older rail design, making it easier to attach and detach the controllers. This fresh approach streamlines the process of switching between handheld and docked modes, while also reducing the chances of damaging the console or controllers when removing them, which was a concern for some users with the previous rail system.

In addition to backward compatibility for both digital and physical games (with some exceptions), the Switch 2 is poised to be a worthy successor to the well-loved original handheld.

    Upcoming Details and Launch

Fans won’t have to wait too long since Nintendo plans to share more information on April 2, 2025, during the Nintendo Direct event. The Switch 2 is expected to hit the market later in the year.

Nintendo Switch 2 Rumors: Reveal Date and Launch Titles Explained

Earlier today, we shared news about a retailer that might have disclosed some launch games and prices for the Nintendo Switch 2. Just a few hours after that, fresh information has emerged regarding the console’s release date.

    Latest Updates on Nintendo’s Plans

To summarize, Nintendo has previously indicated that it plans to reveal new hardware during this quarter. This timeline means the Switch 2 could release anytime before March 31. However, a recent rumor suggests that January 17 is the date when Nintendo will announce its new Switch and Switch OLED models (currently priced at $274.99 – renewed on Amazon).

    Sources Confirm Upcoming Announcement

Many reliable sources have come together with the belief that an announcement for the Switch 2 will take place this week, including Tom Warren from The Verge. Nevertheless, the typically well-informed Nate the Hate has stated that the hardware reveal might actually be on January 16 instead.

    Future Plans for Game Showcase

According to reports, Nintendo plans to follow this announcement with a game showcase that is expected to happen by the end of February. This indicates that the console likely won’t be shipping this quarter. Instead, a late spring release appears to be on the table for May or June. Additionally, the design of the so-called Switch 2 has been leaked online, along with a first look at one of its new Joy-Con controllers.

  • Nintendo Switch 2 Retailer Leak: Launch Titles and Pricing Revealed

Nintendo Switch 2 Retailer Leak: Launch Titles and Pricing Revealed

It’s widely known that Nintendo is planning to launch a new version of the Switch, Switch Lite, and Switch OLED by the end of March. Although the company hasn’t provided many details, there are whispers of an announcement in January followed by a full release sometime in April. With these timelines in mind, it’s not surprising that stores are beginning to get insights about what’s coming next.

    GameStop’s New Offerings

In line with these developments, GameStop has started offering microSD Express cards that provide transfer speeds similar to SSDs for the upcoming console. Recently, an employee or representative from French retailer Micromania shared new information about the so-called Switch 2. According to reports, Micromania has already set everything in place, with prices ranging from €69 to €79 for over 25 launch titles.

    Price Insights and Game Titles

If these price estimates are correct, then games for the Switch 2 would be around €10 more expensive than current offerings. Additionally, Micromania’s internal records are rumored to include mentions of a new Mario Kart and even Super Mario Galaxy 3, instead of a new Super Mario Odyssey (currently priced at $47.89 on Amazon). It seems a similar price increase could apply to the console itself, which is expected to be priced at €399 in Europe. However, it’s important to remember that these details are just speculative at this point and should be viewed with a dose of caution until more solid proof emerges.

    Future Expectations

The excitement around the Switch 2 is palpable, as fans eagerly await more information. As Nintendo prepares for this new chapter, retailers appear to be gearing up for the impending release. With a potential lineup of games and accessories, there’s much to look forward to in the coming months.

  • Genki Confirms CES 2025 Nintendo Switch 2 Mockup Came from Leaks

Genki Confirms CES 2025 Nintendo Switch 2 Mockup Came from Leaks

Genki, a gaming accessory company from the US, recently caught attention by presenting a mockup of the Nintendo Switch 2 at CES 2025, claiming it was inspired by the actual device. The company proudly stated that it had insider knowledge of the original handheld. However, Genki has since retracted these statements made during the event.

    Admission of Fault

In a chat with the Japanese gaming website GameSpark on January 10, a Genki representative confessed that no one in the firm had actually laid eyes on the genuine device. The mockup and all the information shared at CES 2025 were actually based on industry leaks rather than firsthand experience.

This revelation came soon after Nintendo informed CNET Japan that it had not provided Genki with any early access to the new handheld. Genki isn’t alone in making such bold statements; many other accessory producers have also claimed insider knowledge. Recently, numerous leaks regarding Switch 2 accessories have emerged, some from sources echoing similar claims.

    The Mockup’s Validity

It’s important to highlight that while Genki may have overstated the authenticity of its Nintendo Switch 2 mockup, this doesn’t mean it bears no resemblance to the actual device. According to the company, the mockup was indeed inspired by industry leaks, and several features align with previous reports.

For instance, the enigmatic “C” button is shown on the mockup, along with a U-shaped kickstand. However, it’s worth noting that there’s no assurance that those earlier reports were correct. One thing is for sure, though: the Switch 2 is on the way, with Nintendo expected to make an announcement by March 2025.

  • Nintendo Switch 2 Release Window and Launch Titles Leak

Nintendo Switch 2 Release Window and Launch Titles Leak

This year’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES) has been happening all week long. Many new devices have been shown off at CES 2025, but the buzz about Nintendo’s upcoming console keeps growing. This excitement was partly fueled by Genki, which showcased various accessories called ‘NS2’ that were specifically made for the Switch 2.

    Leaks and Speculation

Not long after, a popular leaker shared images of the console, which got even more attention when a Gamestop employee hinted at possible microSD Express support in another leak. Then, a member of Famiboards posted what they claimed was a picture of a working unit, which we have included above. This led to discussions among other members about the details visible in the image, particularly concerning the size of the console’s display bezels:

If we assume the bezels are even, the screen height would likely be between 100-102 mm. By applying the aspect ratio for a 1080p display, we could estimate the width to be around 178-181 mm.

    Display Size Insights

If these estimates hold true, the Switch 2 might have an 8 to 8.2-inch display, rather than the approximately 8.4-inch panel suggested by @OnLeaks just yesterday. Meanwhile, the r/NintendoSwitch2 subreddit has been buzzing with new theories from Average Lucia Fanatic, known for their accurate predictions about the PlayStation 5 Pro (currently priced at $699 on Amazon) before its launch.

We advise caution regarding the details shown in the image below for the time being. For example, while it may seem plausible that Mario Kart 9 could be a launch title based on Nintendo’s history, suggesting a seven-year-old AAA game as a second option feels unlikely. Additionally, the conversion of CA$400 to about $280 would make it cheaper than the Switch OLED in the US. Ultimately, we will discover whether any of these initial claims are true in just one week’s time.

  • Nintendo Switch 2 Design Leaked: 360-Degree Render & 8.4″ Display

Nintendo Switch 2 Design Leaked: 360-Degree Render & 8.4″ Display

The Japanese gaming company has been rather quiet regarding its upcoming console, but leaks continue to provide insights. The Nintendo Switch 2 logo has recently surfaced, closely resembling the previous design.

    Exciting New Renders

Thanks to 91mobiles and OnLeaks, we now have detailed images and a 360-degree video of the eagerly awaited Nintendo Switch 2. This much-anticipated console is set to feature a larger display, enhanced controllers, and various design updates, taking the gaming experience to new heights.

    Design Insights

The leaks reveal a comprehensive look at the new design. On the top side, there’s a power button and volume controls on the right, while the left side houses the game card slot. This suggests that the Switch 2 may offer backward compatibility with existing Switch titles—a dream come true for gamers with extensive libraries.

Additionally, a 3.5mm headphone jack appears, catering to users who prefer wired headphones. Adjacent to it, a USB Type-C port is likely intended for charging, addressing a frequent complaint about the current Switch design, which can be awkward to charge, particularly in tabletop mode. There’s also an intriguing sensor at the top, possibly serving as an ambient light sensor.

    Improved Features

The console showcases a sleek bottom design with a central dock featuring guide pins on either side and dual speaker openings. On the reverse side, there’s a robust ‘U’ kickstand, significantly better than the kickstand on the Switch OLED, which was already an upgrade from the original Switch’s flimsy support.

The Joy-Cons maintain their previous layout, including the ‘+’ and ‘-‘ buttons, D-Pad, and sticks. However, they are now marginally larger and include a new button above the ‘Home’ button on the right Joy-Con. On the back, a new trigger button is placed next to ‘ZL’ and ‘ZR’ for Joy-Con detachment. The close positioning of these buttons might pose challenges during gameplay.

    Larger Display Ahead

According to OnLeaks, the Nintendo Switch 2 will feature a notably larger display measuring 8.4 inches. In comparison, the current Switch OLED has a 7-inch screen, while the standard Switch has a 6.2-inch display. This upgrade is likely to greatly enhance the handheld gaming experience.

  • Retro Adventure Sequel Rumored for Switch 2 Release

Retro Adventure Sequel Rumored for Switch 2 Release

The buzz surrounding the successor to the Nintendo Switch (priced at $300 on Amazon) continues to grow. Recently, a significant leak revealed technical details, and now there are high-quality images of the new Joy-Con controllers making the rounds. Furthermore, fans of classic Nintendo games have something to look forward to, as reports indicate a new version of Star Fox Adventures is in the works.

    A Classic Returns

Star Fox Adventures, which debuted in 2002 on the GameCube, holds a special place in the hearts of long-time gamers. This game is a side story from the main Star Fox franchise, which gained fame on the SNES and Nintendo 64, letting players control Fox McCloud in epic battles against enemy fleets. In Star Fox Adventures, players stepped into a different kind of gameplay, as Fox explored new lands and engaged in action-adventure quests with mechanics reminiscent of Zelda for the very first time.

    Gameplay Overview

In Star Fox Adventures, gamers navigate through Dinosaur Planet, where they solve puzzles, fight unusual foes, and gather magical gems to prevent the world’s demise. If you’re not familiar with this game, now’s your chance to dive deeper:

Recently, the leaker Samus Hunter, known for accurately predicting Nintendo developments, shared an exciting update on X (formerly Twitter) on December 31. He hinted at a “Zelda-like” title coming for the Nintendo Switch 2, expected to launch in 2025.

    Speculation and Clarification

The term “adventure” ignited discussions among fans, leading many to wonder if this new title could be Star Fox Adventures. At first, the general assumption was that it would be a remake. However, on January 2, Samus Hunter clarified in another post, stating that it would be a completely original game. He also mentioned:

“It’s a bit odd after Zero, going back to a formula from the most unique title in the series, but I’ve heard great things about it.”

This statement has led many to believe that Samus Hunter may be hinting at Star Fox Adventures, notably because the latest game in the series, Star Fox: Zero, was released on the Wii U. Whether fans will actually witness a new Star Fox game remains uncertain. As always, the source of this intriguing information has not been revealed, leaving fans with more questions than answers.
