Pixel 9 Pro XL Confirmed: 16GB RAM, Tensor G4 SoC via Geekbench

We are just a few months away from Google’s annual October event, where the latest Pixel series phones and Pixel Watch are unveiled. Earlier today, the Pixel 9 appeared on Geekbench. Now, its larger counterpart, the Pixel 9 Pro XL, has also been spotted on the benchmarking site. The database listing confirms the device’s name, reaffirming reports that the XL variant, last seen with the Pixel 4, is making a comeback this year.

According to Geekbench, the Pixel 9 Pro XL features a motherboard codenamed ‘komodo’. The setup includes four cores running at 1.95GHz, three cores at 2.60GHz, and a primary core at 3.10GHz, indicating that the phone will be powered by the Tensor G4 chipset. It also boasts a Mali-G715 GPU. The listing reveals that the Pixel 9 Pro XL will come with 16GB of RAM, with more variants likely available at launch. It will ship with Android 14 OS right out of the box.

The Google Pixel 9 Pro XL scores 1,378 points in Geekbench’s single-core test and 3,732 points in the multi-core test. That’s all the information the benchmarking platform provides for now, but more details are expected to emerge soon. The phone also scored 1,176,410 points on AnTuTu.

    Design and Features

Leaked CAD-based renders of the Pixel 9 Pro XL show that Google will use a boxy design for this device. It retains the horizontal camera bridge that protrudes but does not extend to the corners. The renders reveal two sensors along with a periscope lens. Other leaks indicate that the upcoming device will feature a 6.74-inch 120Hz display, 128GB of storage, and UWB support. • Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Plus Confirmed to Use MediaTek Chipset

Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Plus Confirmed to Use MediaTek Chipset

Samsung's forthcoming Galaxy S24 FE smartphone wasn't the only device from the tech giant to surface on Geekbench today. The upcoming Galaxy Tab S10 Plus has also made an appearance on the benchmarking site.

Identified by the model number SM-X828U, the tablet's IMEI database entry confirms it as the Tab S10 Plus. The "U" suffix signifies that it's a US variant, while other versions such as SM-X826B and SM-X826N correspond to the Global and South Korean markets, respectively.

    Switch to MediaTek Processor

Interestingly, the tablet was listed with the MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ processor on Geekbench. Traditionally, Samsung has preferred Qualcomm's high-end chipsets for its Tab S series. However, for the Galaxy Tab S10 series, the company appears to be shifting to MediaTek.

The Dimensity 9300+ is an octa-core chipset featuring a powerful configuration: one Cortex-X4 core clocked at 3.25GHz, three Cortex-X4 cores running at 2.85GHz, and four Cortex-A720 cores at 2.0GHz. Graphics are likely managed by a Mali-G720 Immortalis MP12 GPU.

    Benchmark Scores and Specifications

This setup resulted in the tablet scoring 2,141 points in single-core tests and 6,952 points in multi-core tests on Geekbench. The device also boasts 12GB of RAM and will come with Android 14 pre-installed.

While the switch to MediaTek is notable, a report from last month suggested that Samsung might employ a dual-chip strategy for its tablets, similar to its Galaxy S series phones. However, the expectation was that the chips would be Qualcomm and Exynos, not MediaTek.

Given the tablet's appearance with the Dimensity 9300+, it could indicate that the earlier report was either incorrect or that MediaTek may be replacing one of the other chip brands.

At this point, details about the Galaxy Tab S10 Plus are limited. It is expected to be accompanied by the Tab S10 Ultra and likely a standard Galaxy Tab S10.
