  • One-Netbook Ships OneXFly F1 Pro Gaming Handheld with AMD Strix Point

One-Netbook Ships OneXFly F1 Pro Gaming Handheld with AMD Strix Point

One-Netbook has recently unveiled the OneXFly F1 Pro, marking it as the first gaming handheld powered by AMD’s Strix Point. The company kicked off pre-orders earlier this month, and has begun to ship those pre-sale orders. The exciting news is that the discounts for pre-orders are still available.

    Pricing and Specs

You can grab the OneXFly F1 Pro, which features the RyzenAI 9 365, 32 GB of RAM, and a sizable 1 TB storage, for just $1,099 instead of $1,219. This translates to a nice discount of $120 off the usual price; however, it’s still pricier than some last-generation gaming handhelds on the market.

    Last-Gen Comparisons

Actually, you can find last-gen devices at even better prices now, thanks to frequent sales (like the Z1 Extreme ROG Ally, which is currently $499.99 at Best Buy). The price difference becomes even clearer when looking at the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 variant’s starting price. With the pre-sale offer active, the entry-level version of this higher-end model is set at $1,339.

    Price Trends

It’s not too shocking to see such high prices for the OneXFly F1 Pro. Many Strix Point products have experienced a price increase. A GPD representative mentioned back in September that AMD is reportedly charging double for the Strix Point APUs compared to the previous Hawk Point models.

This might explain the absence of budget-friendly Zen 5 options so far. However, the new RDNA 3.5 integrated GPUs in the Ryzen AI 9 365 OneXFly F1 Pro can provide approximately 15% better performance than the ROG Ally X with Z1 Extreme, while the AI 9 HX 370 boasts around 20% improved performance.

    Future Comparisons

It will be fascinating to see how the upcoming Ryzen Z2 series stacks up against the older handhelds equipped with the Z1 APU lineup. This new gaming handheld APU is expected to make its debut during CES 2025, so it won’t be a long wait.

  • Anbernic RG406H Launch Date and Pricing for New Handheld Gaming

Anbernic RG406H Launch Date and Pricing for New Handheld Gaming

The new addition to the RG406 series is nearly here. So far, Anbernic has only launched the RG406V, which is currently priced at $229.99 on Amazon. Recently, the company has announced not just the release date for the RG406H, but also its starting price.

    Launch Date and Promotion

The RG406H will go on sale at 10:00 UTC on November 19. Like usual, Anbernic will have a launch promotion that runs until November 22 at 10:00 UTC. This promotion offers a $10 discount, which is just a 6% decrease on the most affordable models of the RG406H.

    Pricing Details

To break it down, the RG406H will be available starting at $157.99 in colors like black, white, and a see-through purple. There will also be options with 128 GB and 256 GB MicroSD cards, priced at $172.99 and $187.99, respectively. In the end, the RG406H is expected to deliver a gaming experience quite similar to the RG406V and other handhelds by Anbernic that use the Unisoc T820 chip.

    Hardware Specifications

Furthermore, the RG406H operates on Android 13 and comes with 128 GB of UFS 2.2 built-in storage. Anbernic has included 8 GB of LPDDR4X RAM, a battery with 5,000 mAh capacity, and Hall effect joysticks. Check out the image below for more details on the hardware.

TrimUI Brick: Affordable Retro Gaming Refresh Now Available

TrimUI has released its new gaming handheld, making it easier to find at various retailers this year. The TrimUI Brick is the successor to the Smart Pro, which is currently priced at $94.99 on Amazon and was hard to find until recently.

    Pricing Differences

While you can still get the TrimUI Brick on Amazon, the prices there are much higher compared to Powkiddy’s official webstore. Powkiddy is also offering the TrimUI Brick in two new colors that were introduced last month. Now, the device is available in four colors: black, red, purple, and white.

    Stock and Shipping Information

It’s important to mention that Powkiddy has limited stock for the black and white versions. They have also noted that the new purple and red options won’t start shipping until early December. All color variations are priced at $59.99, but you can get them for $49.99 if you use the coupon code POWKIDDYLOVE. To wrap it up, the TrimUI Brick has the following specifications packed into a 109.9 x 73.2 x 19.99 mm frame weighing 159 grams, made from ABS plastic.

  • New Budget Gaming Handheld with Nintendo 64 & PS1 Emulation

New Budget Gaming Handheld with Nintendo 64 & PS1 Emulation

The D008 is one of the three portable gaming devices released by SZDiiER in China. The other two devices are the D-28S and D50 Plus, which are marketed under the new Diium brand. For more information on SZDiiER’s other gaming handhelds, you can check out our articles on the D-28S and D50 Plus.

    Design and Specs

In terms of appearance, the D008 is quite similar to well-known models like Anbernic’s RG35XX series and the Miyoo Mini Plus (currently priced at $63.99 on Amazon). It features a 3.5-inch screen with a resolution of 640 x 480 pixels, but it only packs a 2,500 mAh battery to keep it running. Additionally, SZDiiER states that the device uses a 32-bit chipset derived from ARM Cortex-A7, but they haven’t disclosed the specific name of the chipset.

    Performance and Features

Thus, the D008 might offer performance close to that of the Miyoo Mini Plus, which has shown to effectively emulate numerous Nintendo 64, PlayStation 1, and even some Nintendo DS titles. Furthermore, SZDiiER includes 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi support, allows for MicroSD card expansion of up to 256 GB, and provides all the standard gamepad buttons. At the moment, the D008 is available starting at CNY 160 (approximately $23) in black, white, or purple color choices. It is still unclear when SZDiiER will make this device available internationally, or which ODMs will be involved.

    Availability

One can find more about it on platforms like 1688, RetroHandhelds, and NITTRX.

  • D50 Plus Gaming Handheld: Three Metallic Finishes Available

D50 Plus Gaming Handheld: Three Metallic Finishes Available

The D50 Plus is the biggest of the three gaming handhelds released by SZDiiER in China under its new Diium brand. The other two models are the D-28S and D008, which have been discussed in separate articles. Unlike those two, which are designed for vertical use, the D50 Plus features a horizontal design and boasts a larger 5.5-inch screen.

    Design Comparison

Interestingly, the D50 Plus resembles the GPD XP Plus and Anbernic’s older RG552, which is currently priced at $158.99 on Amazon. Some suggest that SZDiiER may have taken inspiration from the design of the Pimax Portal, as noted by RetroHandhelds. However, it seems that the D50 Plus does not come with detachable controllers and is unlikely to use the same AMD Ryzen 7 6800U chipset found in the Pimax Portal.

    Pricing and Features

While SZDiiER has yet to disclose the exact chipset for the D50 Plus, its launch price of CNY 425 (approximately $59) indicates that it is positioned as a budget-friendly option. The D50 Plus features a 720p display and includes two MicroSD card slots. Additionally, it has the capability to run either Android or Linux operating systems. There is also the possibility of external video output via one of its USB Type-C ports. However, the global release date and many hardware specifications are still unknown at this time.

  • Anbernic RG406H: New Pocket Gaming Handheld Leaks Before Release

Anbernic RG406H: New Pocket Gaming Handheld Leaks Before Release

One of Anbernic’s new gaming handhelds has made another appearance online as it heads towards a likely worldwide launch. In particular, NITTRX has discovered fresh images of the RG406H, which was first seen online in late October.

    New Images Emerge

This time around, someone has posted pictures of the unreleased device showing its front, back, and the display powered on. In brief, the RG406H looks similar to the RG CubeXX that was released nearly a month ago. Nevertheless, it is expected to perform similarly to the RG Cube and the RG406V (currently priced at $229.99 on Amazon), which is the foundation for the RG406H’s design.

    Specifications and Features

As indicated by one of the images below, Anbernic has fitted the RG406H with a 5,000 mAh Li-Po battery (3.8 V) that allows for 10 W charging. Therefore, this device will be on par with the RG406V in this aspect. Moreover, the same image shows that Anbernic has added ergonomic grips on the back, deep triggers, and two vents designed for the RG406H’s compact cooling system.

    Expected Launch and Display

Additionally, RGB lighting will be featured again, along with the large d-pad from the RG Cube. It’s important to mention that while Anbernic installs a 1:1 display in the RG Cube, the RG406H is set to come with a 4:3 aspect ratio and a 4-inch display similar to the one in the RG406V released in September. It’s likely that Anbernic will officially unveil the RG406H later this month, using the same Unisoc T820 chipset as before.

  • Anbernic RG ArcXX Leaks Reveal Potential Specs and Features

Anbernic RG ArcXX Leaks Reveal Potential Specs and Features

Almost a year has gone since Anbernic launched the RG Arc in both D and S versions (curr. $68.99 on Amazon). But the company hasn’t just sat back and done nothing regarding new hardware.

Instead, Anbernic has been rolling out new devices every month since January, with the latest being the RG CubeXX released earlier this week. Recently, there have been whispers on Bilibili suggesting that Anbernic might be gearing up to replace the RG Arc with a new model called the RG ArcXX.

    Expectations for the RG ArcXX

Right now, the buzz around Anbernic’s upcoming gaming handheld seems to be pretty low. It appears that the main change would be swapping the Rockchip RK3566 found in the RG Arc-S and RG Arc-D for the Allwinner H700.

If this is true, the RG ArcXX would likely deliver similar performance as the previous model, while keeping the same 4-inch screen and 480p resolution. At this point, it’s still unclear whether Anbernic plans to offer both single and dual-boot options this time, or if they have any other improvements in mind. Also, a release date is still not known at this time.

  • Affordable Sony PSP Clone Launches with Power Bank Feature

Affordable Sony PSP Clone Launches with Power Bank Feature

Data Frog has launched a new gaming handheld that draws inspiration from more established models. Last year, the company released the SF2000, which closely resembled the Super NES controller. Following that, they introduced the R36S, which had a striking similarity to the older Powkiddy RGB20S, currently priced at $85.99 on Amazon.

    Design Features

This time, Data Frog seems to have taken cues from Sony’s portable gaming division, similar to what TrimUI did previously with the Smart Pro. The Data Frog SF3000 clearly resembles the PlayStation Portable, featuring see-through L and R buttons. Nevertheless, the button arrangement is somewhat peculiar, as the right joystick is positioned above the ABXY buttons on the device.

    Technical Specifications

According to an AliExpress listing by the company, the SF3000 is equipped with a ‘dual-core’ CPU running at 1.2 GHz and has 2 GB of DDR3 RAM. It powers a 4.5-inch IPS screen with a resolution of 854 x 480 pixels. Additionally, the handheld includes a 3,000 mAh battery, which is said to last between 5 to 7 hours and can also function as a power bank. Furthermore, the SF3000 features a 3.5 mm audio jack, a MicroSD card slot, a USB Type-C port, and rear-mounted L2/R2 buttons.

    Performance Expectations

The SF3000 is said to be capable of emulating consoles from the sixth generation, such as the Dreamcast, N64, and PS1. However, we advise holding off on any conclusions until independent reviews are available. At present, Data Frog offers the SF3000 for $25.83, which includes a 64 GB MicroSD card. Alternatively, the handheld can be purchased with one wireless controller for $42.22 or with two wireless controllers for $45.97.

  • Anbernic RG CubeXX: Compact Handheld for Dreamcast, N64, PS1 Emulation

Anbernic RG CubeXX: Compact Handheld for Dreamcast, N64, PS1 Emulation

Anbernic has begun offering the RG CubeXX as a more affordable option compared to the RG Cube, which is currently priced at $196.99 on Amazon and was released in the late spring. True to form, Anbernic has made the new gaming handheld available in three color choices, known as Black, Grey, and White. Additionally, these options can be customized with one of four memory configurations.

    Performance Comparison

In essence, the RG CubeXX is significantly less powerful than its predecessor, the RG Cube. Anbernic has fitted the RG CubeXX with the same Allwinner H700 chipset used in various devices from the RG35XX series. Moreover, it comes with 1 GB of LPDDR4 RAM, which is a standard feature in this price range.

    Gaming Capabilities

Due to these specifications, the RG CubeXX is expected to handle games from platforms like Dreamcast, N64, and PS1, with some PSP games also playable. However, it remains uncertain whether the device’s 720p screen will impact emulation performance when compared to the 480p display found in RG35XX series devices. For context, the RG CubeXX includes a 3.95-inch IPS display that maintains a 1:1 aspect ratio.

    Pricing and Options

At present, the starting price for Anbernic’s newest gaming handheld is $59.99, which includes a 32 GB MicroSD card in any of the three color options. It’s important to note that this price will increase to $66.99 on October 25. Furthermore, customers can opt for larger MicroSD cards of 64 GB, 128 GB, and 256 GB at prices of $67.99, $74.99, and $89.99, respectively.

  • AYN Odin2 Portal OLED Handheld: Pricing and Release Date Announced

AYN Odin2 Portal OLED Handheld: Pricing and Release Date Announced

AYN Technologies has made a significant move by announcing the prices for the Odin2 Portal, shortly after detailing its complete specifications for the new gaming handheld. As expected, the company will present the Odin2 Portal in three different price options, similar to how they did with the Odin2 (currently priced at $449 on Amazon). It’s important to highlight that two of these options will only be available while the Odin2 Portal is being sold through Indiegogo, not in their retail shop.

    Pricing Details

Additionally, it is unclear how many units AYN Technologies will maintain at the lowest price for the Odin2 Portal. The starting price for the Base version, which comes with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage, will be $299. This price is only available under AYN Technologies’ ‘Super Early Bird’ pricing tier.

    Future Price Changes

In contrast, this same configuration will eventually cost $349 once sold directly by AYN Technologies. As per the information released thus far, this $50 increase will apply to all variants of the Odin2 Portal. Currently, AYN Technologies plans to launch the device on Indiegogo on October 23 at 12:00 UTC. To sum up, the handheld will feature a 7-inch OLED display, a 6,600 mAh battery, and a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset with active cooling. For reference, the pricing tiers from AYN Technologies will include:

    • Super Early Bird
