The Odin 3 stands out as one of the few gaming handhelds powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite, joining the Konkr Pocket Fit Elite in the market.
Performance Comparisons
While Ayaneo won’t start shipping pre-orders for the Pocket Fit Elite until December, some YouTubers have already started testing the Odin 3 to see how it stacks up against its well-known predecessor, which is currently priced at $399 on Amazon. Benchmark Results
In synthetic benchmarks such as 3DMark and Geekbench, the Odin 3 shows significant improvements over the Odin 2, achieving almost double the score in 3DMark Wild Life Extreme and more than twice the score in Geekbench 6.5 Vulkan. The CPU benchmark results show a smaller gap, but the Odin 3 still holds an advantage. However, when comparing its synthetic performance with other Snapdragon 8 Elite-powered devices we’ve tested, the Odin 3 ranks at the lower end in most cases, except for Geekbench 6.5 Vulkan.
Emulation Performance
Sadly, the considerable performance boost from the Odin 2 to the Odin 3 doesn’t directly lead to better emulation performance. On one side, the Odin 3 is capable of emulating games up to Gamecube and PlayStation 2 on a 4K external monitor with extra capacity. On the flip side, the absence of custom Turnip drivers restricts its ability to emulate Switch and Wii U games, leading to some titles being unplayable. Thus, for these specific systems, the Odin 2 still provides a better emulation experience.
