Lava, an Indian smartphone brand, has introduced a new addition to its Yuva series aimed at budget-friendly buyers. The Lava Yuva Smart is a 4G smartphone that comes shortly after the launch of the 5G-supported Lava Yuva 2 last month. Let’s dive into the specifics.
Yuva Smart Features
The Yuva Smart is powered by the Unisoc 9863A chip, which is a 28nm octa-core processor alongside the PowerVR GE8322 GPU. It operates on Android 14 Go edition, which is a streamlined version of the Android OS, designed for devices with limited RAM.
The device includes a single configuration with 3GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, which can be expanded up to 512GB using a microSD card. Additionally, Lava has included 3GB of virtual RAM to enhance multitasking capabilities.
Display and Camera
At the front, the smartphone features a 6.75-inch LCD screen with HD+ resolution (720 x 1600 pixels) and a usual 60Hz refresh rate. The display is safeguarded by 2.5D glass. On the rear, there is a 13MP AI dual camera setup, while a 5MP camera is available for selfies and video calls.
Powering the device is a 5000mAh battery, which should provide satisfactory usage on a single charge. The phone supports 10W wired fast charging.
Connectivity and Design
The Lava Yuva Smart offers standard connectivity features, including support for 4G/3G/2G networks, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, and a USB Type-C port. It also has a 3.5mm headphone jack for wired audio, an FM radio, a bottom-firing speaker, and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for security purposes. The dimensions of the phone are 164.96 x 76.1 x 8.8 mm, and it weighs 193.3 grams.
Pricing and Availability
Lava has priced the Yuva Smart at an introductory cost of INR 6,000 (approximately $70), making it a highly accessible option in the Indian market.
