Samsung Announces Galaxy Fit 3 for US Market After Changes

When Samsung revealed the Galaxy Fit 3 in February 2024, it marked the brand's first update to its fitness tracker series in nearly four years. Surprisingly, the US was not included in the initial launch markets. Fast forward a year, and the company has changed its mind, announcing that the fitness tracker will now be sold in the United States.

Availability and Pricing

The Galaxy Fit 3 will be up for purchase on Samsung's official website, as well as at select retail partners, starting January 9, 2025. The price tag for this device is set at $59.99, which is significantly lower than the Galaxy Watch FE, Samsung's most affordable smartwatch currently priced at $159.99 on Amazon.

Features and Specifications

Although the Galaxy Fit 3 is primarily a fitness tracker, it shares several features with the Galaxy Watch FE, which is a full smartwatch. This includes heart rate monitoring and stress level assessment. Furthermore, the Galaxy Fit 3 boasts advanced sleep tracking, sleep coaching, snoring detection, and blood oxygen saturation monitoring. It also offers personalized tracking for over 100 different workouts.

Design and Functionality

In terms of design, the Galaxy Fit 3 comes equipped with an AMOLED Always-On display, an ambient light sensor, and a barometer, all housed in a sleek aluminum case with a matte finish. It features IP68 dust and water resistance, along with a 5ATM rating. The battery life is impressive, lasting up to 13 days on a single charge, which may be more attractive than a traditional smartwatch that often needs charging after a day of use.

Moreover, the device can control music playback on a paired device, respond to text messages, and function as a remote for your phone's camera. In case of an emergency, users can press the home button five times to alert their emergency contacts.

When it launches on January 9, the Galaxy Fit 3 will be available in three colors: Gray, Silver, and Pink.
