The Redmi Pad SE has started receiving the HyperOS update in India. This tablet, which was initially launched in August last year with MIUI Pad 14 based on Android 13, is set to benefit from a slew of new features and enhancements brought by the update.
New Features and Improvements
The firmware version for this update is 1.0.1.0.UMUINXM, and it’s approximately 4GB in size. Included in this package is the May 2024 Android security patch, which is crucial for maintaining the device’s security.
One of the standout features of this update is the “storage refresh technology,” which helps the tablet maintain its fluency over time through “smart defragmentation.” Defragmentation, or defragging, is the process of reorganizing data on storage to improve efficiency and access speeds, thus ensuring the device runs smoothly.
Enhanced User Experience
The HyperOS update also introduces intelligent network selection to the Redmi Pad SE, which is designed to enhance connectivity, especially in areas with poor network conditions. Additionally, users will notice improved animations and more vibrant colors, enhancing the overall look and user experience.
The weather app has been redesigned to provide more crucial information and a better representation of the current weather conditions. The notification system has also been revamped to present notifications more efficiently, emphasizing their importance.
To check if the update is available, users can go to Settings > About Tablet > Update. Updates are often rolled out in batches, so it might not be available immediately for everyone.
Specifications of the Device
For those unfamiliar with the device, the Redmi Pad SE features an 11" LCD panel that supports 400 nits of brightness and offers a 90Hz refresh rate. The panel is certified by TUV Rheinland for Blue Light and Flicker Free standards.
Under the hood, the Redmi Pad SE is powered by the Snapdragon 680 processor and boasts an 8000 mAh battery. It comes with up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM, 128GB of eMMC 5.1 storage, an 8MP rear camera, and a 5MP front camera.
