Redmi is gearing up to launch its highly anticipated Redmi Note 13 series globally on January 4. India will be the first market outside of China to receive the Note 13 lineup, with subsequent releases planned for other markets. However, it seems that Redmi is not stopping there. According to a Chinese tipster, the brand is also preparing to unveil the Note 14 series for the domestic market.
Realme, a rival brand, is also planning to release its Realme 12 series of smartphones in the first quarter of 2024. While details about the Realme 12 lineup are still scarce, reports have provided some key information about the Realme 12 Pro series.
Realme 12 Pro Series: What to Expect
The Realme 12 Pro and 12 Pro+ are expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset. One of the standout features of the Realme 12 Pro is said to be its rear camera setup, which will include a 32-megapixel Sony IMX709 telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom. On the other hand, the Realme 12 Pro+ will be equipped with a 64-megapixel OmniVision OV64B periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom.
Redmi Note 14 Series: A Potential Competitor
According to the Chinese leaker, the Realme 12 series, particularly the Pro lineup, will face tough competition from the Redmi Note 14 series. The Redmi Note 13 series was unveiled in China in September, so it is likely that Redmi will maintain a six-month gap before announcing the Redmi Note 14 lineup.
