A recent post on China's microblogging site Weibo has unveiled some essential features of the upcoming Redmi K70 Ultra. This smartphone, which has already received its 3C certification, is set to succeed the Redmi K60 Ultra that was launched in August of the previous year. Let's delve into the details of this new Ultra model.
Key Specifications and Features
The Redmi K70 Ultra is rumored to be powered by the Dimensity 9300 Plus chipset. Notably, the Redmi K70 Pro, which debuted in November last year, is equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. This Ultra model is also expected to feature an independent X7 display chip, a component that was previously utilized in the Redmi K60 Ultra. Another Weibo tipster, Smart Pikachu, had earlier mentioned the inclusion of an independent display chip. The device will be powered by a 5000 mAh battery and will support 120W fast charging. Earlier rumors suggest that the phone may come with 24GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage.
Externally, the Redmi K70 Ultra will sport a 1.5K 144Hz OLED panel, encased in a metal middle frame and a glass back.
Camera and Imaging Capabilities
In terms of cameras, the rear setup will feature a 50MP Light Hunter 800 (OVX8000) main sensor, an 8MP ultrawide lens, and an additional 2MP sensor, which is likely a depth sensor. There is also speculation about a potential collaboration with Leica to enhance image processing quality. The main sensor, Light Hunter 800, has a size of 1/1.55″ and provides a native dynamic range of 13.2EV.
The Redmi K70 Pro was the first to feature the Light Hunter 800 sensor, which has also been used in Xiaomi's recently launched camera-centric smartphone, the Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro.
Certification and Launch Details
Last month, a Xiaomi device with the model number 2407FRK8EC appeared on the 3C certification platform, which is speculated to be the Redmi K70 Ultra based on its specifications.
