Realme is reportedly developing the Realme GT 7 series of smartphones for the Chinese market. The brand is anticipated to unveil a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3-powered device in July in China. Early leaks referred to this upcoming device as the Realme GT 6, but newer reports suggest that it might be named the Realme GT 7. Currently, there is no definitive information on its name. However, it has been officially confirmed that Realme plans to release the Realme GT 7 Pro in India by the end of this year. This same model is also expected to launch in China by December 2024, following the Realme GT 5 Pro's release in December 2023. Today, tipster Digital Chat Station revealed key specifications of the Pro variant in a Weibo post, months ahead of its official announcement.
Realme GT 7 Pro specifications (rumored)
Digital Chat Station's Weibo post indicates that the Realme GT 7 Pro will feature an OLED 8T LTPO display with a 1.5K resolution. This custom display panel will be supplied by a domestic manufacturer.
Under the hood, the Realme GT 7 Pro is rumored to come with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset, 16 GB of RAM, and 1 TB of storage. While the leaker did not reveal the device’s battery size, he mentioned that it would have a sizable silicon-anode battery, known for its higher energy density and faster charging capabilities compared to traditional lithium-ion batteries. For reference, the GT 5 Pro had a 5,400mAh battery, suggesting that the GT 7 Pro might feature a battery around 6,000mAh.
Camera and Additional Features
The leak also suggests that the Realme GT 7 Pro will include a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom support. Unfortunately, the details of the other cameras on the device were not disclosed. Recent reports speculate that it could be Realme’s first phone to incorporate an ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint sensor.
