Realme 14 Pro Series: Cold-Sensitive Color-Changing Design Revealed

Realme has started to hint at the upcoming release of the Realme 14 Pro series. The company has confirmed that this lineup, likely to consist of the Realme 14 Pro and 14 Pro+, will incorporate the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset along with a periscope telephoto camera. The official launch of the 14 Pro series is anticipated in January 2025 across several countries, including India. Before the public unveiling, the brand organized a private event to showcase the design of the 14 Pro series.

Design Features of the Realme 14 Pro Series

The Realme 14 Pro series showcases the world's inaugural cold-sensitive color-changing technology. Realme has partnered with the esteemed Nordic design firm Valeur Designers to craft the design of the 14 Pro series, which introduces advanced thermochromic pigments that respond to temperature changes. When temperatures drop below 16°C, the back cover transitions from a pearl white to a striking blue, and this shifts back as it warms up.

On the front side, the Realme 14 Pro+ 5G boasts a quad-curved AMOLED display that offers a remarkable 93 percent screen-to-body ratio due to its 1.6mm slim bezels. The device maintains a slim profile with an overall thickness of just 8mm. The company claims that the 30-step "fusion fiber" process ensures that each Pearl White unit of the 14 Pro series has a distinctive appearance.

Camera and Durability

Focusing on the camera design, dubbed “Ocean Oculus,” the triple camera system introduces the industry-first “Magic Glow” triple flash, featuring three dual-color temperature LEDs for capturing natural portraits in dim lighting. Regarding durability, the device is expected to carry an IP69 rating and be certified by TUV Rheinland.

Expected Specifications of the Realme 14 Pro+

As per various reports, the OLED display of the Realme 14 Pro+ is anticipated to support a 1.5K resolution alongside a 120Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, it will house the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chip and will support 80W fast charging. However, details about the battery size and configurations remain under wraps.

For selfies, it might be equipped with a 32-megapixel front camera, while the rear panel is rumored to include a 50-megapixel main camera with OIS support, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a Sony LYT-600 or IMX82 periscope telephoto camera offering 3x optical zoom.
